[.915] Bug? Game continues after fulfilled Master-Quest.

Maybe I did miss something?

Unfortunately, I do not remember the name of this big quest. I was told that - after fulfilling it - I will win the game. I had to open a gate and overpower this mighty hero on his dragon. (I hope you know, what I refer to?)

After some traveling from sub-quest to sub-quest, I finaly faced my destiny. The only way I could slay the mighty dragon was by weakening him with my beloved fellow heroes, leting them sacrifice themselves as a noble deed for the higher good. Then, I (the sovereign) could finally kill the foe.

And then... nothing! The game continued as if nothing happened at all. Only the monsters, that spamed when I opened the gate, rampaged through my poor kingdom.

Is this a bug? Or did I miss an important victory condition? Is it necessary to fight and kill the hero/dragon with the sovereign - and the sovereign only?

Two minor bugs/issues, I didn't want to start a seperate thread for:

- A funny typo in the "Slavery"-Quest: The text sais something about a scene of "...morning, suffering and pain..." (or something similar). The point is: even I (as an obviously non-nativ speaker) had to lough about this. Please, fix it to "moaning". ;-)

- Nothing serious, but still a little bit weird: the loading bar. It is nice to have one. But then, please let it represent the actual progress until game start. A bar is pointless, if it fills in a few seconds - and for at least an additional 30 seconds it stay at "full", until the game starts. But again: this is lowest priority possible and just something I recognized during my games.

Did you check the victory condition for master-quest?

I'm also finding a lot of bugs with the quests.  I couldn't actually return the Dragon Eye and do the master-quest, where previously I could.

Moreover, after clearing out the wildlands zones, the borders never disappeared so I could not exploit the resources.  I cleared out ALL Wildlands and NOT one "green" zone was clear.  It was frustrating looking at all those shards and not being able to build an outpost near them.

Instead of 'moaning', it could be 'mourning'

Yes, or "mourning". Anything, but "morning"... ^_^

MiamiBigAL: No, I didn't check it. (I'm new to the game and didn't remeber this possibility... -_- ) . I'll have to try it again, as I didn't save the game at this point but reloaded and allied to all remaining factions to achieve a diplomatic victory.

Maybe this was only a "normal" wildland raid? (The green area disappeared in my game, by the way. I never raided a wildland before. I'm really new to this game...). But I am pretty sure, the quest was described as "game winning".

Update:

The final quest part was to kill "Waerloga the Dragonlord" and it's reward was indeed the "Quest of Mastery Victory".

I repeated the final fight. With the same result: no victory.

In addition to the "stolen" victory, it was not possible to save the game without a crash during the saving.

I may be wrong, but I just assumed you needed to kill him on the first shot to complete the quest.  Otherwise he just becomes a particularly nasty monster rampaging around, detached from the quest altogether.

@OP: I'm pretty sure you need to kill him solo. I've done it a couple of times. I'm not exactly sure how you are doing this fight, but if you're using other heroes and what not, then I think that may be the problem (you're probably messing up the quest triggers). Although it could just be messing up because you didn't win the first time (I'm usually way over prepared... so I never lost).

@MiamiBigAL: The dragon eye quest is a different quest now. It has been changed into a quest chain that gives you an Ashwake Dragon instead. The one he's talking about starts at the gate of Waerloga's prison.

@ sweatyboatman and Kalin, I think that this was the problem, indeed. (Kongdej: too late for the autosave. :( )

So, this seems to be more of a feature than a bug. Propably it would be too easy to solve the quest, when using more than one attack. So, if this works as intendend, maybe a hint would be reasonable? There are probably more new players/noobs like me, playing this game...

When I attacked the end boss with my army, which included my sovereign, the fight was done with just my sovereign.  Luckily I had been pulling him along with my powerful hero and he had levelled up and got some good armor and weapons.  I won the fight, not sure whether I activated Death Ward or not (maybe not) but I think I had decent fire resistance and armor.

I've had another bug with the master quest- after I clear the first gate, and Im told to "sleep on it" (apparently for a whole season!) the camp spawns INSIDE the gate. This has happened in 3 different games. However, I was able to get around it (and a large part of the quest) by simply kicking a hero out of my army, who passed through the gate as he ran to a new square. This caused the gate to disappear, so I sent my sovereign in, which immediately triggered a one-on-one duel (it says the rest of your army runs away). When I won, though, the game ended as it should.

I have completed the master quest once without problems, my members of my group to do this, my lvl 24 sovereign and a dragon I got from some quest ^_^
Master quest gives insane amounts of xp btw, incase you are wondering xD.
