[0.915] Please optimization FE

Fallen Enchantress 0.915 is really an outstanding production, but still on my laptop (2.2 GHZ, 4GB RAM and Radeon 5470) game runs very slow and weak (in later phase game) .. Stardock please improve graphics, engine and general optimization. Graphic isn't challenging IMHO.

With respect, I don't think you're going to see much improvement in the graphics area. Your GPU is pretty weak. I think if major improvements will happen, it will be with AI and its drain on CPU.

Radeon 5470 is weak cards, is Correct, but other more requirements game work better.. I mean - Heroes VI, Civ 5 and more.

I guess I have to play on my desktop computer.

I agree with the poster.  My computer is only one year old and yet when I get to late game it becomes VERY slow with all the units on the map.

I think it might be reasonable to consider what games a person can and cannot run on their computer, before pointing a finger at any one game as being particularly slow.  For example, my wife can't run FE on her laptop, but she also can't run most other games--they chug along very slowly, given a slow CPU, poor video card, and moderate RAM compromised by a ton of TSRs that absorb plenty of it.  I've only got a 2.8 gHz CPU, but 4 GB RAM and a moderate video card--just about everything runs well on my desktop.

Now, if FE is the only thing running slowly on your laptop, , and you can list games you run easily that are really CPU-intensive, I think you'll have grounds for concern.  And if that's the case, I hope Stardock addresses these.

Wait until Beta 4.

Once they take out the dynamic cities on the main map, performance should shoot through the roof.  I believe that was Brad's main argument for changing to one-tile cities (that it would free up resources to do a lot of other things).

As with GalCiv2, they will likely continue to optimize after release as well. It is a slow process. This game is also very different from the other games you mention that are running better. This game has more stuff happening all at once and an AI that does alot of thinking. I would bet on incremental improvements. That has been the rule.

I don't know how I feel about this.  I like having all the graphical niceties that come with have higher requirements.  Is it really too much to ask to have people run on low settings if they are running on a laptop with a single core and an outdated graphics card (probably on Win XP 32 bit as well)?

OP - Are you running with low graphic settings?   Have you turned off the various settings like AA, lighting changes, shadows, etc?

End of Murteas's quote

Probably the worst first post ever: I really agree with this one.

If you play with a computer that is not meant for playing games or if you play with an outdated computer you really shouldn't expect a game to be adjusted for your needs, you should try to adjust your needs.

[City tiles] I find it surprisingly hard to keep playing FE. It's got all I want from a game I'd love, but somewhat it's still just not the game for me. Somehow I don't feel like few more turns, but am rather reading forums, waiting for a patch or - don't tell anyone - work. One thing that I think really works for FE in terms of making it interesting is the fact that cities expand to multiple tiles. Using computing power even as an excuse to remove that makes me wonder if I've become too middle-aged and middle-classed as I'd love an excuse to improve my hardware.
