XML to fetch the newest additons (like wincustnews.xml) ?

I was looking at the DesktopX news group and Brad posted a script example a while back that downloads wincustnews.xml file and applies an XSL stylesheet against it to produce a desktop x object that displays the Wincustomize news items on the front page. That's pretty cool.

Is there any possiblity of adding to Wincustomize another XML file that contains the Newest Addtions that appear on the lower rightside of the Wincustomize page? Or howabout returning the XML containing a list of the latest message board topics? Seems these could be used to make some nice DesktopX objects.

Yeah you could do a screenscrape and download the wincustomize webpage and parse the HTML but that's a hack and not particulary network friendly (and more overhead for Wincustomize).

Anyway, it's just a thought.

Yes, I was working on that and unfortunately have been sidetracked and have not returned to it. Maybe one of these days I will. I don't know if there is much interest in it either and thats been part of my reason not to get back into it right away.
