Hum... I don't know what your problem is, I just changed some folders in my favorites no problem. Open you Favorites forder then rihgt click on the folder you want to change, select Properties, then click on the Icon tab. Browse to you new icon and voilĂ ! Close you browser and reopen it. Your new icon should be there.

I don't know why it's not working for you. Make sure you close your browser and reopen it. It wasn't showing on mine until I reopened the browser.
I don't have IconPackager but I don't see why it would make a difference. I have Microangelo, and changing the icon works when I use MicroAngelo's options just like it also works when I use XP's built it icon tab.
Strange. Just like you do, I have XP Pro.

Just wanted to add, when 1st opening folder its like ie icon is writing over icon under it,does that make any sense. When I first drag an address to favs there icon is there (want to keep it)but when IE is restarted there icon replacrd with ie icon.

Yeah, it's probably cause the icon isn't kept in your cache. Try saving the icon on your system then chaneg the icon from the icon tab in the properties. The icon for a website is always located in the root of the website and is always called "favicon.ico". So you can get the wincustomize icon by typing: www.wincustomize.com/favicon.ico. Then save it on your machine and change the icon of your favorites for Wincustomize. This should be permanent and not return to the default.
