I've been having lots of fun doing birthday things on this board, and I've brought up one suggestion to our admins.

My suggestion was, somewhere on this site, we'll put up a little section where it'll read something like "Wednesday, January 29, 2002"

In that box, whenever there's someone's birthday, we'll list their names underneath it. That way, the community knows to wish the person a happy birthday or something.

Brad suggested putting it on the msgboard, which I think is a fairly nice place .

Just an idea.

I enjoyed it, lifted my usual birthday depression blues. Also made me feel really a part of the community and got to meet new people too! Thank you Elfkura. Very thoughtful. Only one thing - I'm still waiting on the cake and ice cream?

Oh yes, forgot, I also learned two new things because of the birthday thread - how to do smileys and red text -. I guess you can teach and old dog new tricks.

Sounds like a nice idea, as long as it doesn't trigger an audio file playing "Happy Birthday to youuu..." or anything like that.

Wouldn't it require adding a birthday field to the user's account information?

Nice idea Elfkura, brings the wincustomize skinners more close.

I think a new place in the user account is needed for this, as DavidK said and what about a small photo of the member?

and as for gifts...I think stardock is in over its head supplying for wincustomize......but....I'll figure something out for gifts

Don't stress yourself over this, Boxxi. It's really just a little idea. I figured there would be a little section somewhere where I can get to and update names for b-days. That's all I was thinking on. Really nothing that's going to require days to finish..and just for that one day .

And because everyone will know when it's birthday time, a special "Birthday Skin" could be created for the lucky person.

For example, on the 18th, mine would ooze with personality, charm, good looks, a sharp wit and confident benevolence - ah, what a skin!
