User Picture in XP

I see on most of the screenshots from XP that people have pcitures and cool designs next to their name in the Start Menu.

I've set a picture in XP, but it never displays.

The only thing I could think would be a problem was an obscure reference I saw in a help file about non-domain computers.

Could my problem be that my system accesses an NT network?

Or is there something else people are using to produce those images and skins?

Well, do tell us when you find it! I have the same problem, and also I don't have the XP logon screen, I just get the boring standard logon popup, the same one as Windows 2000.
The funny thing is that I used to have the cool Windows XP logon screen along with my user icon, but now it's gone. I have no idea what happened to make it that way.
Any help would be welcomed.

To have a picture show up on the XP Start Menu, you must have the Welcome screen enabled. You must be a System Adminastrator to enable the Welcome Screen. You cannot enable the Welcome screen on a domain.

If you somehow get this turned off, you can toggle it back on again by going to:

1) start
2) control panel
3) user accounts
4) change the way users log on or off

Fast user switching needs to be on to use the Logon XP utility.

The XP logon screen and start menu user image will not work at all if you are a member of a NT/2K domain.

Ok, I have a question about the "user account" picture displayed on the start menu, how the #@!$ do you get rid of it? Its ruining the effect of the skin I'm using. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

A different kind of User Picture question. I've been working on making a WindowBlinds skin and I've noticed that some skins (Apollo, for example) have offset the User Picture. How is that done? I've gone through all of the tuturials and examined the skins in SkinStudio, but can't seem to find the right properties to change.
