ObjectDock inexplicably empty

Hello,

I'm looking for help with ObjectDock. I have the full version of Object dock and use it daily on an XP laptop. About half an our ago I rebooted to install some driver updates and when I got back to my desktop my dock had moved, changed size, and everything I'd put in it was gone. Needless to say this is very frustrating (I had put a lot of things in it). There was no crash, no error message, no nothing--just rebooting to a completely reset dock.

To make matters stranger, when I started adding things back to the dock it remembers what icons I had associated with various applications.

Can anyone tell me why this happened or how I can get my old setup back without completely rebuilding it? Also, is there any way to back up my dock? This is a pain, and I don't want to have to do it again.

Open control panel programs and features. See if there are two versions of Objectdock installed. I had something similar except the icons stayed and the dock itself was gone. Turns out the one that booted up was an older version with all my docks in it and not in the one I was using. Hope this helps.

Uvah, thanks for the advice. It appears I actually had three versions installed. (And likely have had them installed for some time.) But, after cutting all but one, I'm still left with my reset bar... Oh well, hopefully this will keep me from having the same problem in the future.

This is the one you should have. Objectdock plus version 2.01

Yea, that's the one I kept. I think the other two were both the free versions I'd had previously.

Thanks for the help.

I do beleive your dock settings are kept. I'm going off the top of my head, but in Win7 the path would be something like
C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Local\Stardock\ObjectDockPlus

It's been some time since i used XP, so i cannot recall the exact equivalent location, but that should get you looking in the right place. You want to look for the backup.ini and settings.ini file, with those i think you can get your dock looking how you had it.

:)

<edit> I believe the file you need is CurrentTheme_backup.ini, not backup.ini <edit>

The easiest way to get to your settings is through ObjectDock itself:
