Can the Titan easily wipe out the Pirate base?

How difficult is it for the Titan to wipe out the Pirate base on its own?  If it isn't very hard, everyone will rush their titans over to the pirate base for free experience.

I had to get mine up to lvl2, but only because the pirates had an extra fleet sitting around.

Also: yes, it is a good way to lvl your titan.

I played around with it some in single player. The ease with with the Pirates can be knocked out might be problematic.

Yeah, a level 1 ankylon with the only research done that boosts it being tier 1 hull upgrades vs a midgame pirate base, once the thing hit level 2 it was clear that no matter what i did the pirates couldn't kill it. By the time it was level 3 the only thing they could do was keep it's sheilds down, the hull regen was too high for them to do antyhing to it.

Yes, it can but I don't have a problem with that.  Later in the game I was in an enemy territory and he had his Starbase leveled up a few levels.  and I had a lot of trouble trying to take out the Starbase with just the Titan.  According to Stardock, Titan should be able to take out a Starbase.  not so true.

Again, I was able to rid me of the Pirate filth, but it was not easy by no means.  the Pirates had a lot of ships there that were causing all kinds of havoc.

My opinion, the titan is what its supposed to be, and I don't feel that it needs to be fixed.  leave it as is.

not the titan but the pirate well could get a further upgrade else it will be a valid tactic to farm the pirate well.

I personally parked my titan with hold position at the edge of the well and just farmed the spawning fleets for a while...

Ill add that the Pirates can be naturalized pretty quickly and not by using a Titan.  Build a Novalith Cannon and blast the Pirate Base. no more threat. Pirates naturalized.  And I have seen this done first hand so yes it is possible.
