Can anyone help me with canon camera.

I have canon powershot digital camera with which i had taken pictures on it. When i connected the memory card of canon camera to my computer it says i need to format the memory card before using it? So i formatted it then i saw there were no photos in the card. I have also ticked on show hidden files and folders but still i am not able to see my photos.

The doc is right.  But there might be hope.  First off, don't write anything to the card yet.  The information is still there, it's just that the pointers to the files have been reset.

Try unformatting the SD card.

Most undeleters require you to give the first letter of each file that's being recovered.  You can choose whatever letter you want. 

You can also google "unformat" or "undelete" for more options.

You may be able to find tools online to let you recover the files from the formatted memory card.

No need to buy software just for that. There are free recovery tools. I hope the formatting was not a low level one, and if they are recoverable, it'll only be true if you don't write over them.
