Why can't I see all the skins, and why is skin count inaccurate?

I've read past posts regarding people not seeing their skins in the listings, but I'm still not sure why I don't see mine.

I posted a PocketBlinds skin last week, and it did indeed get added to the site, but I can't see it when I go to the library. If I look at "My Skins", I see it there, and I see it is being downloaded. Also, if I go to the PB library and do a search for it, it shows up. Oh yeah, the skin is called "WMP". It's a Windows Media Player 8 rip-off.

Also, I have noticed that the PB library shows a count of 30 skins. However when I go there, I count 32, not including my WMP skin that I can't see, which would make 33.

I did look at my account settings and I have no option for showing skins based on rating.

Thanks for any help.

Well, it definatly seems to be a matter of seting your preference in your "Edit account" page. By default, I think it's set to show only skins rated 3 or above. Now, if you don't see that setting, maybe it has been changed so that people with Citizen status can't change that? I,m not sure about that though; you're sure you don't see that setting? It should be towards the bottom of the page...

citizens don't have that settings in their accounts. I think what citizens might see is rated 7 or above? That I'm still not quite sure on.

(rated 7 or above is for either the citizens or passerbys..I'm not sure which one...)

Interesting. I have doulbe checked my account settings and I do not have that option. Are skins rated by admins before they are posted? Do all skins start with a 0 rating? You'd think that, as a skin creator, I would be able to at least see my own skins, regardless of rating. It would be nice if I could adjust that setting. Maybe they could give it to citizens who actually make skins. I don't know. Just thinking out loud.

Any thoughts on the incorrect skin count?

Personally, I don't even see ratings for skins (they're on there occasionally, but for a VERY small percentage of skins). I don't have the option to choose to view only skins with a particular rating, nor have I ever seen an option to rate skins. I kinda like it better that way anyway.

I have had a problem with seeing my skins in the category before. It's only happened once, and it just sort of mysteriously appeared after a while.

i think that all skins start with a rating of 5, regardless of membership status?

Skin are rated by the admins before they are released. With the exception of authors who have an access of Journeyman or higher. Their skins are auto released and are given a rating of 6. Users who have access of Apprentice or higher are able to rate skins. The skins rating is the average of all user ratings.

Now not everyone agrees with this rating system, so because of this Citizens are not able to rate or see the ratings. This prevents someone from logging on with a new account to stuff the ballot whether it be good or bad.
