Traffic on artists & skinners sites

I was just curious what the average traffic other artists and skinners get on their own personal sites. Also if that traffic has been effected by the changes in the communities in the past several months.

The traffic to my site has just about doubled over the past few months! OK it's virtually nothing compared to the other sites, I get around 700-1000 visits a month which btw is OK for me!! I give the "credit" for the increase to my small article about the site in issue 6 of Teknidermy!

me has around 57 thousand visitors so far w/i several months since I stuck it up, and I have "totally abandoned" my site
I can see by that number the need for more Pocket PC skinning sites by seeing that ppl even bother to go to my swampy, spider web ridden site at all.

My traffic has tapered off slightly over the Summer. Due in no small part, that I haven't updated anything in ages. I suspect, had I been more productive, I'd have seen an increase in traffic.

Our site was openned just 2 weeks ago and is recieving an averadge of 1100 vistors per day, but I believe this number is not realistic and the visits will decrise after some time, then will became stable and finaly will grow up slowly.

Hmmm... I normally get about 350 - 500 hits a day, but it varies, not bad I guess for a personal site. Mind you, it has been around for nearly 2 years now... also traffic has been steadily increasing in the last couple of months.

Every time I release something new on the front page, the hits go up quite a bit, and then slowly fall again until my next release.

I have to say it is a great feeling to know so many people actually check out my work on a daily basis, and I've had visitors from over 120 countries

At the beginning, I used to be really excited when I got about 15 people a week on my site, and used to check my counter all the time...

... now I have a much more relaxed attitude, and check the logs every couple of days, and only really take notice or get surprised when my hits jump in the hundreds.

I'd be pretty interested to hear other peoples experiences with web traffic/hits, how's everyone else out there doing?

I get zero hits....but that is due in part to the fact I don't have a site....

I have also notices that my traffic increased and decreases based on the uploads to the site. I have also seen an even larger change with each remake of the site. The main thing I noticed was when the one unamed skinz site closed traffic really fell off, and now as the people migrate to here the traffic has increased again. I do not have a counter on the main page, so it is hard to tell from the stats I do get from my server but it looks like about 1,000 to 3,000 zip downloads a week, with 10,000 to 20,000 people a day on average.

Treetog: do not worry in a fairly short amount of time you will start wondering how you will handle the bandwidth. I think your new site will definetly be drawing a lot of attention.

Does everyone fund their sites themselves or has anyone found sponsors that help make things a little more worth while?

Jafo: you lazy a$$, get ya act together

Mobiusco: My site is 100% funded by me myself and I! Maybe that's because it's located on my ISP's server!

Wow MobiusCo, 10k - 20k hits a day? that's great... congratulations dude.

My site is self-funded as well by the way... there really isn't anything to do apart from pay the domain fees really, as I have managed to place it on my ISP's free webspace which is 'unlimited' (very handy)

my server usually sends appox 5 mb per week.

about 1k requests now. it mean there was about 500 hits in 4 days. hmm thats pretty high now actally...

but same time its requests it could mean someone had refreshed many times.

Hell Dragon,
I use to have the benefit also of having my site on my dial up account, which was also unlimited traffic, and size up to 40 megs. But they one day put a stat meter on the server and was politely asked to move the site to a commercial domain and pay for the hosting.

Also I just put a link to your site darkproject.com on mine. Very nice site I like the clean layout and easy of navigation.
