The reason is probably filtering. WinCustomize is intended to be a Skinning site, but unfortunately we tend to get more wallpaper submissions over skins themselves. Because of this, the newest sections box was becoming overrun by wallpapers. So we have a filter on their to only show wallpapers that are rated higher than 5 (I believe that is the number).

That is probably why your wallpaper did not show up in the newest additions.

If it is the 'Bottomless' wall....the problem is probably that when you can upload without being checked by admin an automatic '5' rating is applied....[you cannot rate your own work afterall], so until someone else pops a rating on it it may not show up. In the case of this wall it obviously has had another rating...

hmmm... that's a bit silly, considering that it now has a rating of 10, but is, I assume, too late to be a new addition. (either that, or it IS a bug). How about, seeing as we trust journeymen to upload work of a significantly high standard, their default rating is 6 or 7, rather than 5.

BoXXi's wallpaper rate was by default 5 (Journeyman), what do you mean by "higher than 5"? do you mean that Journeyman's wallpapers will never show up?

In theory it is like that, but in reality it is not! I have put the rate [10] to BoXXi's wallpaper after 5 minutes from the time his wallpaper was in the "Wallpapers by Date" and no other wallpaper has been added for at least 24 hours! Also, no other new addition was in the "Newest Additions" table, for the same period of time. What do you think about it?

FOF has a good point....[maybe some of mine will get past '5'....no-one has rated some of them]...

Adni... it's just as likely the lack of new walls showing up after moderation in that last 24 hours was because no walls made it past moderation at all...

Ok BoXXi. You have made a good point. I will change the auto rating for JourneyMan to be 6 instead of 5.

When I first put this in I had tried a rating of 7, thinking the same as you, that as Journeyman we should expect high quality. But after a bit of time I felt that it was too high and decided to just go the middle of the road to be on the safe side. But now that I have seen it both ways it appears that a rating of 6 will probably work the best.

What is happening with you guys and the XP stuff?
The 90% of the people like the OS related things, don't forget that the skins are for the OSes and they need wallpapers too. If the authors in WinCustomize don't make good XP wallpapers who else will do? Think about it.

Adni....the problem is that generally people will draw a bad wall, panic, and simply chuck an 'XP' logo on it and hey-presto, instant mega-downloads.
Very few XP walls are actually any good artistically and/or technically....

Bill...I'm afraid I just look at works of the quality/style of Nuvem, BoXXi, Buzz-Hog, Mobius, Transmutate......those sort of walls.....then I look at the one in your link.....and I can't help seeing the difference...

Paul, This is one of Boxxi's, right off this site. I just don't like trashing a style because it's not "cool". It might be overdone right now but XP is the big thing of the moment. The top downloads section is full of it.

O.K. stop right there!!! If you look at the description of "XPBoXXiStyle", you will see that it is a JOKE wallpaper!!! That is NOT my style, and it took me about 7 minutes to make it!! Quite a few of us made JOKE Xp walls at the time, in protest at the amount that were being posted.
In fact, I'm going to delete it right now, before anyone else thinks that I meant it seriously!!!!

Yes thats my mug. However, It looks like the picture is a bit strecthed. Looks like I will need to fix that.

If you visit the WinCustomize store and look at the screen shots for the Hat you will see my mug again.
