I can't wait!  Look how tiny the capital ships are compared to it!  Way cool!

Out of curiosity, is the unit cap for Titans very small?  Please say no; giant battles with those beasts will be so awesome!  :andrew:

GoaFan77 and AdmiralAckbar42 called it...That is the rebel factions Titan and Athena is the Loyalist.....

Yeah, but now its clear its not a factory in the long prism base. Its a special weapon that looks likely to make missile barrage look like a plaything. ;)

It looks like it'll be some kind of super-laser, which would be hard to aim at individual ships.  Now, a blast at a clustered fleet would do a lot of damage, and it could probably decimate a space station.  I'll also bet that the Titan has some nasty planetary bombardment capabilities...

Now, it might also be a colossal super magnet.  Enemy ships are sucked to it and "captured" for resource or tech bonuses, or maybe launched out at their own fleets like rail-gun bullets.  Or, to keep everything simple, maybe it is just a giant rail gun and it is charging up to fire...

We are going to need a bigger gun....

    And a bigger "boat!"

Just wondering how expensive one of those will be...

52 million USD or 38,529,936.01 EUR

Eh, that buys an F-16...

Actually, it buys you two with most the cost of a third left over. For the remaining amount, you can actually pay for avionic upgrades to bring one of them to comparable standards with an F-22 and have a little left over.

Yeah, even if we had the technology to build that thing, it would still probably cost more than current GDP of the entire world.

Okay, it was a joke. We're moving on.

Does anyone know anymore tidbits about the fictitious structure?

I want to see the new Advent Titan!

Titans! ;)

Also, anyone know what that center rapture battlecruiser is firing one of its beams at? Looks like the new TEC capitalship perhaps?

The one in the center of the screenshot I believe is firing at a Kol Batllecruiser unless you mean the rapture in the middle of the other raptures I think thats the Dunrov(something like that I dont play TEC T_T)

Yeah the two beams firing forward are, I meant the bigger beam (maybe that's from an Illum below it actually) that is firing towards the left, at that long ship next the the Celios and the Dunov.

That's a side shot of the Radiance, I believe.

And yes, a Titan is a structure. It moves, but it is a structure.

Structures can't phase jump...

There is no conversion for ingame credit/metal/crystal to current value.

7DS, we did our own... TITANS are the equivalent of 2.7 to 3.1 billion.  Most capitals are 200 - 800 million.  Metal and Crystal are in tons of refined raw materials.

The ships will cost as much as they cost, but better damn well phase jump.

If they're structures and don't phase jump, then perhaps Ironclad has developed "phase tugs."  They're like phase jumping leeches that attach to friendly structures and jump them into another gravity well (mobile starbases; cool!).  They can also attach to enemy ships and phase jump them out of the gravity well.  Just think, if you identify the enemy flagship, and are losing the battle, then you could attach a phase tug to it and force it to jump out of the gravity well.  All the other ships would be forced to follow it and give you a chance to regroup.  Overall, it's kind of a neat thought; I don't think that I've ever seen such machines in a video game before.

But...judging from how everything has been developed thus far...my money is on the Titans possessing their own propulsion systems.  I'll bet that they move slower than a legless tortoise in the gravity wells though......

didn't mean that they are statonary buildings. I meant that they fit under the general definition of a structure: it's a fundamental, tangible or intangible notion referring to the recognition, observation, nature, and permanence of patterns and relationships of entities.

Moving along.

I assume no one has a clue the potential cost as little has been released on the subject.

Freaking epic... do want.

@Draakjacht - I got your meaning; I was simply indulging in a bit of creative speculation.

I'm going to guess thrice the amount that a single-stage starbase costs.

with or without upgrade investments?

Without!
