Deskscape Dynamic Dreams

Do you want them?

Hi All,

I've noticed that in spite of the Dynamic Dream SDK having been out for over a year (I think), nobody outside of Stardock, and please do correct me if I'm wrong, has done a dynamic dream.

I can understand why, it’s a lot of work to do something cool and you require specialist development skills.

I was wondering if there was much interest in the community for some? Any feedback or suggestions welcome.

I love mpg's and I do encode them such to use as less resources as possible .... and personally feel that the dynamic's are just limited to some speed , time n shapes ..... though the actual beauty of dreams still lies with the video ones ..... for eg.. see the blissful dream or the grassyfield or any other abstract or space dream ..... tho i've done a few hybrids .... da modern kind of dynamic dreams

I'm fond of the dynamics for a couple of reasons.  They tend to be less demanding on my old box (unless I go crazy with the options and load them up too much), and they tend to have the ability to use different wallpaper.  I like the hybrids because of the lower usage too.  Sure I'd like to see more of them both.  From what I can tell they are likely a lot of work though.

OK Thanks.

Given the resounding hollow echo I'll take it that nobody is really interested in the development of new dynamic dreams (like the water pool that Stardock distribute).

Shame as it seemed a good idea to release the SDK and I had a few ideas that would look good with people's own desktops.

If anyone has anything else to add please let me know.

We are always interested to see new dynamic dreams and I imagine the community as a whole would be too.

The forums are only viewed by a small percentage of the community and I suspect the majority of people do not realise dynamic dreams are possible.

Thank you gentlemen, its nice to know that I have some support from within Stardock.

Neil, aren't you the chap who was originally behind Deskscapes? May I PM you sometime with some technical questions?

Nevertheless, I may be sometime as this would be a hobby project alongside full-time employment and Fatherhood.
