Here's a silly question.....

How does one go about uploading textures to the Windowblinds textures gallery? Do you need Skin Studio?

I think it's a fine question and more textures are always welcome in the gallery.

Yeah! Cut out the silly questions, WizStyler!

Well, I sent in a texture but I'm not sure I did it right. I zipped the file itself and used a .jpg as the preview. I tried to install it on my system and it showed up and I can use it BUT it's a LOT paler than it was made to be. Any ideas on why that would happen?

Possibilities? Submitting the wrong image. Nothing in the submission process should change the image file itself, MG. Haven't heard this one before.

If you're interested in calibrating your monitor (something a web designer/digital artist should do, imo):

OK, so it got rejected (not surprised) because it wasn't a .wba file. But when you save in PSP there is no option for saving it in that format, so how do you make it a .wba? And the preview, that's supposed to be a screenshot?

Just zip it and rename it with the .wba extension.

And use a screen shot of the texture on a Windowblind for the preview?

Make sure the texture is the correct file type before you zip it. Then do as Wiz said.

I did it and when I checked it, it said there was no .usi file in it. Now what?

I don't know anything about .uis files, but all the textures I see in the textures folder are .tga files.

You haven't downloaded a texture skin renamed it to .zip extension and opened it.

In it you'd find a .texture file and a .tga.

There is no .uis file.

The .texture file is made through WB7 as described in the tutorial link I posted above:

[Frames.Texture]
Image=Textures\WHATEVER YOUR TEXTURE IS CALLED.TGA
Tile=1
Trans=1
PerPixel=1
AlignLayerMode=1
AlphaMode=120
[Taskbar.Texture]
Image=Textures\CLOTH_BLUE.TGA
Tile=1
Trans=1
PerPixel=1
AlignLayerMode=1
AlphaMode=120
[StartMenu.Texture]
Image=Textures\CLOTH_BLUE.TGA
Tile=1
Trans=1
PerPixel=1
AlignLayerMode=1
AlphaMode=120

OK, I see. No UIS.

I make it in PSP, add it to my WB7, then zip it along with a screenshot of the texture applied to a Blind, right?

Doc, I read that tut, really! I'm just dense tonight I guess!
