Icon Packager Question

Hello everyone,

I have a set of icons in .PNG and .ICO format which I want to use as an IconPackage, (for personal use)

how do I pack them all as an IconPackage theme ??

Also, if im using a certain IconPackage theme, can I include icons for certain applications which by default may not be

there in the package, for eg. an icon for my paintshop or after effects ??

It would be really helpful, thnx in advance !!

Amitsaran.

You go to package builder in Icon packager, under Icons and Cursors.

ok, i see there all my system icons, desktop icons, folder icons etc. (all of them the default ones)

can you provide some details on how to include or completely build a new package there ??

Did you tried to put all icons together in a .zip file, and then change extension in .ip? Usually it works fine.

Just, it could be possible that you need to convert all the icons you want to use  as an IP in the same format

open iconpackager,

click on icons and cursors tab and down the bottom you will see a blue button that says 'package builder'

this will open up a new page where you add your icons to, (drag them over and drop them over the icon you want to change)

its best to finish the whole set before you save and apply, (but if you need to shut down your pc ect, no worries just follow the same 2 steps

and just redrag all the icons over again.

when you are done then save ect then close that window and apply them

Hi everyone,

A related question, but in reverse lol.

How can I convert IP icons into PNGs for Objectdock? I'm sure the answer is somewhere in this forum, but darned if I can find it. Tried Axialis, but it confounds me. Is there some other way to do this? Thanks for any suggestions.

What if the applications icons he wants to change (PaintShop, after effects...) are not in  the package builder page? Is it enough just adding the new ones or is necessary "including" default applications ones in the list before?

To make a .zip pack, change extension in .ip (however,on my machines if I make "Add package" it  works even with a .zip one), then "Add package" is not quicker?

Well, you got 2 possibilities: 1) switch to Nexus dock (it supports .ICO) 2) go to Google and check for on-line icons converter (there is plenty). Just go to the site page, browse for the icon you want to convert, select the new format and then download the PNG one.

Thanks inthebloodofeden, I'll check out those options.

3rd possibility-

Open up Icon Developer.

Click on "Open Icon"

Browse to either the icon package or the directory with the extracted icons in it and open it.

On the left side of the window, click on the icon in the size you want.

Export it by either clicking on the "Export" button towards the top or File/Export Selected Icons command.

Creates png.

Just change the IP extension to ZIP and extract.

Objectdock does not require you to use .png file. You can use icons as well!

for those ones that arent in the package builder, you right click on the package builder page and a menu pops up and you choose 'add format'

then another window will pop up, and you choose from that what you want to add.....
