Typing speed

I have no idea. I type with 5-9 fingers and never had any typing classes, so I think I get about thirty words a minute or so (rough guess). I can do speed reading though.

Aw come on, we know you type 120 words per second.

On an IRC chat room a couple years ago I was accused of being a bot.

I dunno, I guess I'm around 60 or 70 words a min... maybe more, not sure.

Anyone got a link to a Java or Javascript speed test website that we could all use to test ourselves?

But these are probably not completely accurate. I cannot touchtype and only really use a few fingers. I can type faster if I don't have to actually read something and take my eyes off the keyboard. At work I have often been accused of just tapping random keys. Mostly when typing emails or into messageboards you don't actually have to read the words first. If I could memorise that whole piece of text and then type it I could probably reach another 10 wpm.

In order to test this I restarted the test again but typed what I would be typing into this window instead. Please note the Accuracy amount. Better than I expected seeing as I didn't type any of what was written for the test.

This wireless logitech keyboard has some issues in being responsive so sometimes when I hit two letters at nearly the same time, it inverts them.

I don't know the typing method, I just type with 4 or 5 fingers... And as pjpowell, I type much faster when I don't have to look at the screen and at the keyboad at the same time. Let me try again, typing something out of my mind instead.

Okay, I get 56 wpm when I type without looking at the screen. Better, but only half Froggies' speed... !

67 wpm - much better than I thought!

120 words per minute with at least a 95% accuracy.
130 words per minute with an 80% accuracy..

sometimes even faster....*sigh*

I've been kicked for flooding by a bot because I type too fast..and it thought I was copy and pasting...you know how annoying that is?
