Messed up shortcuts! HELP! :(

So i tried fences and ran with it 2 days, but i didn't quite like it so i decided to uninstall it.

After i uninstalled fences my desktop shortcuts where at 1 place and they didn't want to snap if you know what i meen by that.

How do you enable that again so i can rearrange my icons.

When you right click on your desktop, what choices appear in the menu that opens? In that menu (or any submenus) does the choice "Organize" appear or "Arrange by"?

Do as Doc says and check align to grid. That will allow you to arrange them to your liking and keep them neatly in place.

There is no way to bring "neatness" to a desktop with all those icons on it except perhaps with fences. Whew, what a mess!:meow:

lol...I agree with Frankief...lol. Ever thought of using a DesktopX dock foryour shortcuts?

There is one I remember using that has just that function. It docks offscreen and opens on mouseover. Has a place for shortcuts and that's it. No frills, just that.

Then there are programs like 8start launcher, and the like.

This is the one, can't remember what it's called or who made it.

Of course, the actual flyouts could be altered with any graphics.

Or just simply have 4 or 5 folders on your desktop and name them to things like games, applications, media and so on. Then drop those icons into each matching folder. Even change the folder icons if you like and put them on a dock like the great ObjectDock. There is no need for so many icons taking up space on the screen unless of course that is what you want.
