They're playing the first expansion and filling their hard drives with lots of screen shots of it!

Ritalin might help, it seems to have a numbing effect on those diagnosed with AD/HD syndrome.

For the rest of us, a small progress update would be nice.

Please, please, no. My great hope is that the design leaders are still focused on plans for serious rework, especially given the fact that the new hires include a lead devoted to 'mere content.' Ideally, none of the 'content' decisions behind the RTM of Elemental 1.0 should limit the design of Fallen Enchantress. Especially the Inscrutable Decision to demote Essence from a fascinating stat-commodity hybrid to a mere yes/no flag.

That is definitely one of Brad's strengths that I will never be able to outperform.  The real amazing part is how fast he types out huge pages of completely coherent text.  I write a few paragraphs, then go back and edit for a few passes.  After pass 3 or 4 it begins to resemble English.  Brad is a machine.

Advice to Pantasd:

Play some Fall from Heaven 2 while waiting. He's a great game designer, at least.

Well, think of it this way - the time Derek saves by not posting is time he can instead spend making the game better. It's not like he's sipping martinis on the beach or anything. That's my job.

I'm pretty sure most of us would be totally fine with spelling and grammar issues.

You can just admit that there's a tiki bar inside the building where you all sit in the sand with umbrella drinks while watching internal beta testers play the flawless version of EWOM that you're withholding just to be cruel.

To be honest, I think most of us can deal with not seeing new posts from you, since every minute you're not writing a post is a minute you're working on Fallen Enchantress or 1.2. The only thing that matters, in the end, is the end result.

Derek's job isn't actually to produce a good game, rather to sell us on the idea that it's a good game! We want loads of feigned complexity, lots of 3200x1800 resolution screenshots and - most importantly - constant promises that the next patch will be the "golden" patch.

devs not posting for a few days means that they are knee deep in game creating goodness. i preffer them not posting and keep working. then finally when the stuff is ready to come out of the product line make a post with whats been worked on and with screen shots or vids. then back to silent work period. rinse repeat till the next break through.

A typing machine?

Also, I think that there is a lot of "non-english" people here so some errors won't bother us either :).

Only to some. The rest woud start complaining about it (because of wording and/or whatever was shared). But at least people would have reasons to distract themselves while waiting.

That's harsh. So far, most people who "complained" were actually reasonable, both in their expectations and in the content of their complaints. And usually gave both constructive feedback and suggestions.

Harsh? People who complain aren't happy. And nothing was said about the types of complaints and their tone, just stated that there is people bound to complain because there will be something that makes them twitch (some are clearly oversensitive after WoM's release so they are more likely to fall here).

Plus it's the truth. People are quite predictable in general.

If that is to be harsh, then harsh all the way, baby!:P

Excuse me sir but might you be looking for an assistant?

I have noticed how frequent journal updates give a certain vitality to the game and a drought from a dearth.
