DX Theme problem

I always have a hard time with DX themes, although I really love the way some of them look. But, I tried again this evening, and sho' nuff, I'm having problems. In preparation for applying one of gef's themes, I deleted the DX objects that were already on my desktop, so there would be no conflicts. OK. So far, so good. I downloaded the theme, and it installed just great. But, I decided that I'd prefer to go back to the convention wallpapers and windowblinds. BUT, I CAN'T!! At least, not using any DX objects. The start bar and object bar of windowblinds is obscured by the wallpaper. It doesn't matter what wallpaper I'm using, as long as I have a DX object, the object bar disappears. This makes the computer usability kind of tough. But, I want to go back to using some of the DX objects, like the weather and clock.

If I list the stuff, and nothing is loaded, I still cannot see the objectbar, as long as DX is running. It's that simple. How do I fix this? I'm getting frustrated, yet again.....

TIA for any suggestions.

try to start a new theme. right click on the desktopx icon in the systray and in the menu choose new theme. Unload desktopx and then restart it. then go and choose the objects and wallpaper that you want.

desktopx gets a little buggy at times. its no wonder though because of all the options and abilties built into it.

Thanks. I tried all that, but it didn't really work. But, having said that, it's all fixed. I don't think that DX is actually "buggy". Rather, it's got so many parts that if you don't know what you're doing, it will reset something, and you won't know what happened.

That's what happened to me. It actually reset two things that screwed me up, settings that I didn't know existed: it hid the taskbar and it set the wallpaper. As soon as I figured out to uncheck those things, all was well. Every time some aspect of Stardock screws me up, I learn something new about it (and my computer). It's just a shame that the learning process is so painful with these programs. But, I wouldn't give it up for anything. I'm having way too much fun. Call me a glutton for punishment.
