How do you get money?
I'm almost always broke. A merchant brings 25% of 1 gildar. It doesn't help much what more can I do if I'm not near a gold mine?

Grow your population as fast as you can. Seeing as population generates income. Also, make sure you don't spam buildings too much in the beginning as alot of them have maintenance.
Simply,
Sell an unplayable game at 39 Euros
Use customers as testers before the official release and after also.
Spend your day saying " next patch will solve every problems "
Promise free features because of people don't ask you money back

Lol. Disagree with the underlying sentiment but still made me laugh. ![]()
Quoting impinc "Grow your population as fast as you can. Seeing as population generates income. Also, make sure you don't spam buildings too much in the beginning as alot of them have maintenance." In the 1.09o (for outstanding) patch, specialization of the settlements has been taken to a whole new level. I was spamming Tech studies and was shocked to see gold going negative. Prestige has been made *very* expensive (eg -3 gold for 1.5 prestige) so the Royalty trait is a lifesaver. To get more gold I took the advice of training caravans and sending them to cities asap.
Edit ps: Same reaction to asadex's post as Das123.
population only generates income if you're playing the beta, and it seems like you're not. otherwise.... yeah, you'll need a gold resource. or grab yourself a merchant master npc. can't offer much more than that as there are very few options in 1.09.
You also can get money from selling items such as maggies key and extra midnight stones or potions, as well as winning battles.
Prostitution.
Hey dont say that too loud, my gf may hear that and start having weird ideas coming up ![]()
