The purpose of this thread is to contain discussions made by the decision making panel pertaining to the 2nd Demigod Community Tournament.  Per the rules and registration thread http://forums.impulsedriven.com/396231, here are some more details about the panel.

Decision Making Panel

This tournament will be governed by a decision making panel consisting of pacov, McShane, hedgie with jongalt as an alternate.  The panel's purpose is as follows:

  • Review any scheduling issues and making the final decisions with regards to disqualification. 
  • Reviewing replays as required (crashes and desyncs)
  • Resolving any disputes that arise

The panel's decision on all matters will be the final word for this tournament. And last, the members of the decision making panel will not make any decisions on the games they are playing in.  We didn't have a panel in place for the first tournament and that was a mistake.

So, if you have a game that requires reviewing, etc, please post here.

Current discussion:  What team combinations will be allowed in the final 4?  Discussion over.

quick summary

team 1 v team 4, team 2 v team 3

All games are best 2 out of 3 elimination. So, we only have a semi-finals and finals round now.

Whatever team is on light in game 1 will choose from the list of acceptable team combos.

Whatever team is on light in game 2 (teams will rotate sides) will choose a different option from the list of acceptable team combos.

If there is a game 3, the remaining dg combo must be used.

Here are the combos:

QoT, erebus, UB
Rook-Reg-Erebus
ub tb erebus

So, we'll just make this quite official, then - and I think its a simple compromise that should keep all parties quite happy.

Teams in the final 4 portion of our tournament will have the option of 1) sticking with the original character selection rules or 2) going with the mirror match selection.  Before teams start their games, they will briefly discuss the option they want to go with.  If the teams do not agree, then they will stick the original demigod selection rules as listed in the rules and registration thread; however, once the teams have agreed on the character selection rules, they will stick with those rules for that match (eg either you stick with the old rules for the best 2 out of 3 or you stick with the mirror match rules for the best 2 out of 3).  These rules apply for both the semi-finals and the finals. 

That should hopefully take care of it. 

The semi finals MUST be completed by Tuesday at midnight (or at least be in progress at that point).  If you make it to the finals, you will be expected to play in the finals no later than Thursday at midnight.  If the games have not taken place by that point, disqualifications will occur.  Disqualifications will be determined based on teams making a logical effort to get their games in.  Hoping you get your game in and not being willing to schedule will result in a disqualification if you do not meet those deadlines.  The easiest way to avoid that is to simply speak with your team and make a post in the scheduling thread based on your availability.  I'd hope to see a little more effort than "we hope everyone is on when we are" because if that is all the effort that is put into it, you will likely be disqualified.  Avoid that by making an effort.

Yeah well mcshane, thats your right and all. 1 thing though, I remember you asking to get into my teams channel while we were having a tourney match, and trying to figure out what was going on during our match.

You later enjoyed as well watching the stream from the 2nd game of my team against Trousers one, so it's not too nice denying others what you ask for and DO get from them. Maybe we will have a more strict policy regarding expectators/listeners for our next matches, i feel kinda silly "TOLERATING SPIES" while others don't , using your own words. :|

I never asked to get into your channel. The night you are talking about Pacov was like hey there's a tournament game happening, come down and listen, I had nothing else to do so I did. You guys play in an open room. Lol I really wouldn't need to spy on you nom, your style is 'lock everything and hope no one dies' not much to learn there. If you guys also want to password your channel for tournament games great, that's your call. Besides I was actually joking about the spying thing, I don't want zen in the private room because he's too loud, there's several people who have heard us play.

Lol why you mad nom?  Lock everything and hope no one dies is literally your style, I wasn't trying to be rude.  If no one does die then it usually works pretty good.  You're not going to show me anything I haven't seen before, that's why I found it funny that you would think I'm spying on you but being all secretive about people listening to us.  If you're actually offended and believed that somehow I gained the upper hand by listening to you guys that one time, PM me whenever we're playing and you can listen to all of our games.  But zen_god still can't.

Besides, this is not the right thread to schedule games, but w/e. If for tomorrow you meant today 4th of november, i wouldn't have any problem to play our tournament match against you tonite (in all honesty i'd rather be done with the tournament shit asap), but i think thunder's at work until friday (hence not free until saturday), and we have some pending games (maybe already scheduled, should check with Jong) against other teams: 3rdth game against Badaddys and RAWRRRs team, whole match against Arkangels and Darkliath's team. So maybe i should ask you to get into the queu.

That said, if all 6 of us happen to get online at the same time anytime soon i would happily play against you. It doesn't seem likely though, last nites i checked and you 3 were never on at the same time. It almost seems like you 3 are in DG just for the money prize..... }:)

I forgot to mention that I've talked to Ruiprsg, and he has told me that he still wants to play but I believe it was military training he has started and is preparing to go to Iran in mid December so he has been busy.  My team was supposed to finish our series with him on Sunday but it seems like they're having a hard time getting all 3 of them together.  So there's good intentions there, but it doesn't appear that they'll be able to meet their minimum requirements.

same goes for darz/iz/darkliath (less military deployment tho).  I know they have been trying to get their games going. 

Anyway, once jon updates this list of wins/losses we'll look at who could be dq'd and discuss in the other thread.
