Edited map kept reverting back to older version when used in a new game

I edited a map and then started a new game with that map . But it kept reverting back to its unedited state. And to top it off, when i loaded the map for editing again, the map was reverted back to its unedited state which was suppose to be in its edited state. Is there a workaround for this or anyone have any ans to this? Thanks
