No Wife

Last week I installed version 1.08 and started a new game. I believe I'm about at turn 200 or so. I have yet to find a single female character that my male soveriegn can marry. Thus, I have no way of starting a dynasty. I know they must be available because a neighboring Kingdom has already had about 3 kids to grow up. In previous versions of the game I had no problem finding a wife. This needs to be fixed.

Must be totally random, I have more than a dozen hired, and most of them are female, ended the game with 2 kids.

Are you saying there are no Female champs to hire, you can't hire them, once hired the game doesn't give you the option, or that the champ refuses your proposal?

No Female champs = random, I feel you on this one, it's happened to me before.

You can't hire them = Quite possible you need the hotfixs released over the weekend. Not being able to hire was a bug.

Game doesn't give you the option = Odd, probably a glitch/bug

Refuses proposal = Need to bump your Reputation by doing quests and stuff.

Also, AI Sovs are married when the game starts. They will start having kids long before it's possible for you to.

No female champs is what I've experienced in this game. It may be random that I've not had female champs, but it still needs to be fixed. One of the interesting components of the game is the Dynasty system. No, it's not a game breaker. But, it does stink that I can't have children, arranged marriages, etc. especially since the AI can.

There was another post on here somewhere with a thought of being able to marry another Sov's child as an arranged marriage. Makes sense and would make it so everyone would have a chance of marriage in every game regardless of random Champ placement. :inlove:

Hmm...I always chose a female sov, marry Janusk within 20 turns and start cranking out a dynasty. I figure the sooner the better. 200 turns? you are patient!

People say you get crappy kids from Janusk because he is a low class champion.  I wish there was some way to tell which ones were good.

Janusk can be okay, it depends on which of the base hero Janusk is made from. But there's nothing like marrying Rilis with a male sovereign.

As for the op, sometimes it happens. The only way is to research the hero path yourself and hope, if you already have, then there's not much you can do but wait. What I normally do is play with all 10 AIs, that way they will research hero techs for me, making more heroes available overall, and thus more chance at one.

End of Delmoroth's quote

Look at the champs stats... sort of like a background check... how strong and dexterous, intelligent etc are they?  The higher the stats and better the starting gear they come with the higher quality they are...some(not all) of this is subjective.

marrying Janusk produces 'crappy' kids?   Guess that depends onn what crappy, means.  My soverign usually does this, andthe kids are awesome mages... yes, HP, etc are low... so keep them nehind the lines, and equiped with bows, for weh nmana runs out.

Never waited for 'better' Husband material.  Who have you found to be better at making 'better' children?  What are their states like?  thankls
