Now that Organized is gone, is it time to allow your soverign to wear boots again?

Just saying, why should be soverign be my slowest hero by 2 moves!  (Boots and Cloak not allowed to use).

You can use them if you make your sovereign a "Man" as in from the race "Men."  Tarthans, Amaranians (spelling that wrong I'm sure) and the other kingdom races can not wear them, neither can the Empire races.

This is actually something that really annoys me, I really like the Tarthans for appearance, but when all is said and done playing a custom tarthan race instead of a custom Men race is like handicapping myself for the sake of "pretty."

Oh, interesting.  I didn't know that.  It used to be you could get someone else to buy boots and then trade them to you, like someone under 21 trying to buy alcohol, but they removed that cheat in 1.08 or 1.07.  Still I'm pretty sure I can't wear the wayfarers cloak either.

Some cloaks are limited by gender.

No rhyme nor reason. I can understand some race restrictions, but given they are all homonid it seems ridiculous to stop one race wearing boots over another.

yes exactly, also I appears that I can't buy any boots anymore after the city offers several other stuff?

About the organized ability, why does one sovereign in 1.08 still has this feature showing up?

It was not removed, it was simply made unavailible when creating new sovereigns.

uhhm well, why?

I realized when creating a new faction that there are way more points available than any of the other factions used.

Organized was over powerful becuase it allowed you to carry around the powerful but slow units and it neglated your sovern down to a taxi that could toss out a few spells.  for me it just costs a bit more to put boots cloak and horses on my units so they are able to move quickly my soverns stack still has a movement of 4-5 just can't carry around the OP summon creatures and move that quickly anymore so I just leave those to defend cities which they do a very good job at and with roads between the cities they can still move to the border cities pretty quickly.

understood, but why one of the sovereigns still has the ability? (I was mostly aiming at that with "why?".)

Because those that already have it still do.

It would be interesting to see Organized pop up in the tech tree... sufficiently deep in the tree that people would have to sacrifice short-term gains for it... making it an actual strategic choice rather than a no-brainer character creation element.

In the late game it is definitely nice to be able to move around the map a touch quicker.  I suppose you can do the same thing with the quick-troops method, but a Tech would be nice.

My guess is they didn't want to deal with a shit storm of "WAAAAHHH my sovereign disappeared/won't work just because he had organized!!! I want my sovereign back!!"

Personally when I found out they were ditching organized I deleted all my old sovereigns.

Heh, I did the same delete.  And, honestly I found that I enjoy the game more now that my sovereigns are not flying around the map... that plus the new magic system (with TONS more mana early on) makes me actually split up my main characters and get them involved in the game rather than just using one or two to do everything.

Still, late game it would be cool to be able to research Organized... say after the last of the logistics is done.

Currently there is no researchable organize ability, but there are upgrades to increase unit movement for everyone.
