This thread has been created for the purpose of tracking results in the April/May 2010 2v2 Demigod Community Tournament. 

Current status:  WINNER! - King_Of_Thorns + Zen_God

Round 1a began at 5PM on 4/21/2010 and ended at 11:59PM EST on 4/30/2010. 

Round 1b began at Midnight on 5/1/2010 and ended at 11:59PM EST on 5/7/2010.

Round 2 began at Midnight on 5/8/2010 and ended at 11:59PM EST on 5/23/2010.

Round 3 (SEMIFINALS) began at Midnight on 5/24/2010 and will end at 11:59PM EST on 5/30/2010.

Round 4 (FINALS) began Midnight on 5/31/2010 and will end at 11:59PM EST on 6/5/2010

Players responsible for hosting and scheduling their own matches.  Then, the winning team must provide a replay and a link to the pantheon stats here for tracking purposes, for every game played.  Please feel free to use this thread get your matches scheduled.

There will be a need to disqualify teams that aren't making the required effort to get their games in without penalizing another team that's doing whatever they can to get a match scheduled.  It's probably best if teams that are trying to organize matches go on record in the forums.  For instance, if I was playing against say AtMa and Ba, I'd post something like the following in this thread:

Atma + Ba:  trouser and pacov are generally available M-F from 5pm EST - 1AM EST.  Please let us know if some time in that slot would work for you or recommend a time slot that works.  I'll PM you in a few days if I haven't heard from you or we can discuss this on lagwars vent. 

Something like that.  If it comes down to disqualifying teams because they didn't get their match in, the more info and tracking you have indicating that you did your best to get the match scheduled the better.

Here is the FINAL bracket  - UPDATED 6/5/2010

Tournament Rules:

  • You may only select characters as indicated in the grid below:

  • Each match in the tournament will be the best 2 out of 3 games
  • All matches will be played on cataract with default settings (the only exceptions being AI HP on Very High and AI Gold/XP on low)
  • After teams are formed, they will be randomly placed into a bracket to determine who will fight who.  Everything will be random initially in round 1.  In the following rounds, the winners from one game will play the winners from another based on location in the bracket starting from the top on to the bottom.
  • Each team will play 1 round on light side, then 1 round on dark side.  If there is a 3rd round, the team that had the fastest win in game 1 or 2 gets to pick the side they want to be on (keep in mind the following rule).  
  • The team that is on the dark side must pick their characters and ready up first.  Then the light gets to pick and the dark side does not have a chance to adjust their characters. 
  • To track your wins, you must do the following - post the replay at gamereplays.org.  If you have issues with gamereplays, upload the file to rapid share and provide us with a link.  Also, provide a link to the match in the pantheon and let me know if its a win or loss.  The winning team should do this for each and every match.
  • UberFix 1.02 must be used (http://forums.demigodthegame.com/374315).  UberFix is a mod that fixes many of the bugs in Demigod.  Check the modding forum for everything that is fixed by UberFix 1.02. 

How will we handle crashes:

If there is a game crash, the players involved in that match should see if they can come to a consensus on the probable outcome of the match.  If there is no clear winner, the 2 teams should replay the match using the exact same demigods and sides (light/dark).  If there was a clear winner at that point in the game, then that team should be awarded the win.  If the 2 teams disagree on the outcome, a third party will review the replay of the match and render a decision.  Be aware that the 3rd party must agree that a specific team was going to win or the results will be thrown out and the match redone.

How we will handle invalid game states:

The lastgamereplay file is still created in the event of an invalid game state, so it is still possible to review the results of a match.  In the event of an invalid game state, players should attempt to resolve the issue exactly the same way as game crashes.  If you believe foul play occurred, submit the replay along with any screen shots, etc, as evidence and we will review.  If there is a CLEAR consensus that a team is willingly triggering invalid game states, that team should be disqualified after a thorough review of the facts. Please be reasonable, though.  We all know that Demigod has its bugs and its still pretty easy to encounter an invalid game state even if no one has intentionally triggered it.  If your game does crash, it might be advisable to take a screen shot of the crash as proof.  Be aware that we know invalid game states can occur without any sort of foul play, so please be mindful when submitting requests for review. 

Prizes:

Outside of prestige in our small community, there is also a cash prize thanks to community contributions.  The total (and probably final) amount paid for this tournament is $200.  If you would like to contribute to the pot, please pm me and I'll get you the needed info to send me a payment.  If individuals do not come through on their pledges, I will not be personally covering the difference.  My goal is to collect the pledged amount before the tournament starts and I will be providing updates as I receive the pledged money.

MOST and I repeat MOST of the delays are because people have legitimate reasons to miss their match... hey saw you said this weekend.  Definitely can't do that.. it would be Monday @ earliest (Christ I hope it's done by then.. dunno how to live much longer w/out internets lol).  Got a call today saying that my motherboard apparently fried 2 of this guy's power supplies and he still doesn't know what the problem is.. said he would call back this afternoon but he never did.  I'm going to be severely pissed off if it's not fixed Monday, but ya.  At parents' house through the weekend anyway.

The absolute latest would be Tuesday if not Monday.  I will overnight a fucking motherboard on Monday if this damn store doesn't have promising news.

Sorry bout this guys, but I'm only going to be available 19th on... but thats 24-7 whenever is good for you guys available.  If by some grace of little Baby Jesus miracle we get past Orcun and the guy he's carrying through this tournament on his back, then I'll be able to play any other games real easy.

My girlfriend and I are about to go to the airport and pick up our new dog, which she is treating like our first child is on its way... so, its just real bad timing.

Sorry bout the inconvenience, hope this works out... if we get DQ'd I understand, but I'd really like to get this game in.

I really can't take any team seriously when they had 17 days to schedule their previous match and didn't once set a single time to play (never mind actually show up for it) and then they feel the right to enforce upon me their strict 'next day' deadline.

There was plently of time to schedule a match between us and you lot, feel free to reflect on this all the way till your next tourney. I merely had to start pointing it out because we were about to breach a deadline to which you basically replied "We will play when we feel like". To bad that attitude made you neglect the deadline. If this kind of mentally keeps up, these basic tournaments will span over 3 months.

Oh I don't mind you working and sleeping at all, good on you for doing so, I just don't expect to have events revolve around your likings.

You also make it sound like not having one replay is such a MAJOR THING, I haven't even seen any of your replays because I don't see what the point is, we all know what kind of thing may go down based off attitudes. If you go generals I'd bet an arm you and Janook would go demo's and safely harass towers because that stuff doesn't bother you.

we should've finished them off 2-0 but made a mistake of getting the giants too early. We got too cocky on the 2nd game toward the end, and didn't relock their portal. 

Our 3rd game was so close but they played very well at the end.\

Looking forward to watching the replays... the boxxy guys sound a little impressed with your performance in vent ba.  TBH, from watching the cow/jaws game, I had you pegged as the weak link in the team, but apparently you shined in this game... just goes to show  that it pays to watch more than a couple games from a player... some games are good performances... others are not.

yeah atma and I are very disappointed as we started celebrating for the win on our 2nd game.  We jumped the gun too soon and made 1000000000000 consecutive mistakes and got stomped.  3rd game must have taken at least 1.5hrs...had their portal but forgot to relock....and ended up dying and losing our portal.

i also forgot to save the replays...hopefully atma and renzo did.

Atma played very well on all games.  We just made a bad strategic move that cost us the game.

I think the reason why he may seem inconsistent is because he likes to test out some builds and go "out of an ordinary" build to have some fun :)
