ObjectDock Plus 2 windows 7 x64 tray icons not diplayed in dock

Previously I've used ObjectDock Free on Windows XP 32-bit with a system tray docklet I d/l somewhere. I configured the system tray docklet to use a transparent background image so that it showed all system tray icons inside the icon space.

Recently I migrated to Windows 7 X64 and purchased ObjectDock to be able to use it on 64-bit. Today I installed ObjectDock Plus last updated 30-march-2010.

I added a single Zoomer Dock and hide the Windows Taskbar and enabled "Show system tray icons". This shows all the system tray icons on the dock, which clutters the dock.

Next I used the "Configure system tray icons" and disabled "Show all tray icons at all times". Now I can filter which tray icons I want to display.

I want to display the system icons that are shown by default on the Windows 7 task bar. When I select them, they are not displayed on the dock. When selecting all 10 non-system tray icons only 5 of them are displayed in the dock.

In Control Panel > Notification Area icons I can find no configuration differences between icons that are diplayed or not, except that system icons are configured as "Show icons and notifications" and other are configured as "only shows notifications".

As a workaround I've added the Battery Meter docklet, because that's the most import system icon for my notebook.

Has anyone experienced the same issues or knows how to solve this?

Robert

OD2 is in beta and the developer appreciates the feedback. I'm sure they will try to get a fix for this into a future beta release. I believe the issue has already been posted a couple times in the Feedback Thread

this issue is known. For now it only works when you have "show all icons" enabled. If not, system icons are not shown........

This has been confirmed, and the developer is aware of the issue. Selecting the option to show all icons seems to work.

HEH, I think he meant to say it works better than selecting individual task running icons. As you can see from the screenshot, icons circled in red do NOT show up when you check off to show all icons. Not showing are: NOD32, Network, Speaker, O&O Clevercache & DriveLED

Works for me...eg the Speaker icon....

What I think MAY be the problem is the dock does not AUTO-resize to fit them all in....you need to drag it longer.

I have 17 icons...in both the systray and the Dock Tab....and yes, they are the same ones.

Win 7 Ultimate 64bit.

Erm, my tabbed dock size is way more than big enough to accommodate all the icons. So that can't be it in my case. If you look at the image I put up you can see I cut off what I didn't need. What is not showing is there are 4 more tabs below the DVD/BR tab. More than enough space for all the icons. My games tab, one of the ones below the cut off line, has 17 icons in it.

Win7 U x64 as well.

Because you cut it off it's not clear....what you need to show is the tray tab in its entirety...and that it has inches of dead space empty of icons.....then it'd be clearly not as I indicated.

When I load a tray tab it adds itself as a tab...but does NOT expand itself [and thus all the other tabs] wider to accommodate all the tray icons...but when I drag it wider then hey presto...up they pop into view.

Thus my experience is that the bug is an auto-resize one, not a 'they stay invisible never to be seen' bug.

Give it a go [if you haven't already]...open the tray tab...and drag it longer.

I think from memory I have the tray set to 'always show icons'...;)

NP, just to make my point :) Notice previous mentioned icons still not showing and that there is indeed tons of room.

Ah...OK...;)

Here's another test....what happens if you set the tabbed dock horizontal rather than vertical?

Same.

Same, no change. Will post some more screenshots later today, no time this morning.
