windows 7 start button in xp - deformed

can these skins be used in xp?

Hello,

On one of my computers where I still run xp, and wb 6, I'm finding the new skins with the round (7) start button visually very pleasing, however the ball appears squashed on my task bar, not at all like in the preview. What can I do to correct this?

For instance I am now using a skin called Clear Black, it makes the taskbar transparent, and this works on my xp system, so it does have the necessary capabilities.

Help would be appreciated.

Are you selecting the correct Visual Style? I'm also on xp and I've noticed that when I select the VS for 7 for example, the orb looks a little smashed and not perfectly round. What skin does this happen on?

I'm running Win 7 64bit on my laptop and the start button on skins like Dragon, Yellow, Pressureized sticks up and never completely dissapears. This also happens on my XP Desktop. Is this the way it is supposed to be? I don't use these skins because of this and I really like them. Is there a fix?

many skins were designed to have the start buttons at the top of the taskbar in XP , this was before 7 and vista... In wb on 7 you can go into WBCONFIG settings > Advanced settings and force the start button to be positioned in center of the taskbar (vertically) then re-apply.

 

To the OP, make sure you screen resolution in XP is the same as your other OS's, if it is not, it may appear squashed.
