How to get the game running with Ubuntu?

Huhu,

I am trying to get SoaSE at Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala running, but I fail.

 

First off, there is an article in the WineDB:

See the second one from top.

But I just don't have a CA21F9C0 folder at my dvd....what now?

 

I use the retail version of the game. I guess the files are in a other directory at my DVD, but in which one?

ok the ca21f9c0 folder is on my disk.

you have to go data/offline/CA21F9C0

i just installed it for testing, it worked, update your wine. I use 1.4.

Ok this seems to work fine...ty for your answer nonetheless.

 

But somehow it crashed in the menu effects (not instantly, but later on)

OK, I had turned on the intro and nwo everytime I start the game I get a crash everytime the menu shuold appear...
