Intro movies won't stop looping and other technical troubles.

Pretty much as the title says. I recently re-installed Sins of a Solar Empire after a long while not playing it, but instead of going their business as usual... they seemingly loop at random. That is, they'll play out.... and play again. And again. Until cancelled by a click of the mouse.

There isn't even a common denominator as to which of them loop... or even when. Sometimes it's the Stardock logo that's ll constantly play in a loop. Sometimes it's IronClad's. Others, it's the "Game logo" that does this bug. Sometimes it'll be two of them in successions(cancelling a looping stardock logo to face a looping Ironclad logo).

Similarly, I am unable to change resolution. Only to decide if I'll play in fullscreen or windowed.

At first, I though it was a bug with Diplomacy, so I uninstalled all of the game and redownloaded vanilla Sins of a Solar Empire to reinstall it anew... but even without installing any of the expansion packs I still get the bugs. In fact, this time I got a minidump erorr when alt-tabbing out of the game.

Please, any help would be welcomed because I have no idea what is causing this anymore...

Please, -any- help would be very grateful.

I am growing weary of trying to reinstall this game all the time without having any idea what is now wrong with my rig when the game used to run first before I uninstalled it the first time.

In fact, it now seem even worst since I can't even "apply changes" to the resolution from within the game, yet somehow it's so fubared that hitting the back button will however apply changes to windowed/fullscreen mode even if the resolution seems so utterly fubared that even attempts to change it using the user setting file with wordpad won't work.

Seriously, I only wanted to reinstall a game I haven't played in almost a year and now it looks like I'll have to take apart my computer in a full reformat with -no- guarrantee this will fix it.
