Coming Back to Demigod after 2 months and Still having problems

So about 2 months ago my friends and I got really fed up with Demigod's connection issues and lack of online features and we quit playing.  I love the game, so I thought I'd come back and see how things were doing.  If it went well, I was hoping to invite my friends to join me.

I've played 7 games over the past week or so and only 2 of them have finished normally.  Three of them had at least one person lag out and drop after 20 minutes of solid play, and 2 of them ended in invalid gamestates.  I don't blame this on ragequits as most of the games were very close and the people who dropped were doing plenty well.  Plus the drops didn't seem to come at predictable ragequit moments.

The only thing more infuriating than having a great game interrupted 15-20 minutes in by a drop or a crash is having it happen more often than not!

Like Frogboy and everyone else, I "value my free time."  It says so in my Ready to Play preferences.  And wasting a good portion of my leisure time every day to see the game end in some disconnect or bug is really problematic.

I was hoping to come back and be impressed.  To invite my friends, and return to some fun and exciting Demigodding. But a 28% success rate is really unnacceptable.

To keep this from being a troll/flame rant, I'll finish with a question:  Does anybody else have this problem?  Am I the only one that's finding a huge proportion of his games fail to end normally?

I'm sorry that you still are having problems. It seems like it differs from person to person, personally I don't have many problems at all and have never had.

Invalid gamestate is a bit of a bitch, on Cataract you should avoid capturing all the flags since that may cause an Invalid gamestate what I have understood (correct me if I am wrong).

I think you have had some bad luck, in my games people rarely gets disconnected. If they do you can always add a note to their profile saying that they have got disconnected. Thus you never have to play with them again if you don't want to.

I've had the same experience as Esuzu. I very rarely have problems with the game anymore, other than the occasional person who trys to play a 4v4 with a starting sim speed of 2. For me, once the invalid gamestate error is stamped out, all of the connection issues will have been resolved.

In short, don't give up on the game. Maybe post some info. on what hardware/ISP you are using and people can give you some pointers to make the game run like butter.

To sum up what I replied in another similar thread:  I've experienced a much higher frequency of desyncs/Critical Game State (invalid state, whatever) in the past week after the latest patch than I did before.  It seems like some are 'legit' game errors just randomly occuring, but a lot seem too perfectly timed to be anything but a rage quit/exploit for the loser to preserve their stats.  I've probably played 3 days this week so far, & each day see 2 to 3 games end prematurely (usually 15 to 20 mins in) for every 1 or 2 that I play fully to a normal victory or defeat.  So for me it's at least a 50/50 crapshoot if I'll be able to play a full game.

Funny. Since the patch several weeks ago Ive been fine really. Only had one game on leviathan where some-one left without warning.

But I think he was a silent rage quitter. He had moaned at our team once then hadnt said anything for 5 minutes then left and made another leviathan game. Which I was kicked from when I joined >>

Apart from that Ive been fine. I reckon you're just unlucky Joe. What time you playing?
