Activation Error (Sins)

I got a free CD Key for Sins yesterday from the CD-Action forums. (www.cdaction.pl) (site is in Polish. I speak Czech and it's still tricky for me in places).

 

Anyway, I signed up for an Impulse account and put in the key they sent me and it seemed to be fine and downloaded Sins to my PC. Now when I try to start Sins the activator comes up and I put in my email and serial and it comes up with "invalid registration" and the "An error has occured while registering this product."

 

I sent support an email but aside from wanting pictures of everything from my box, receipt* and possibly my birth certificate and barcode tattoo on the back of my neck, they haven't got back to me.

 

 

*Which obviously I don't have as it was a free serial.

 

Any help would be much appreciated.

 

Also, while downloading, Impulse froze and crashed. When I opened it up again though it ran just fine and carried on my download. Could this be causing the problem?

Me too, but I already had mine activated. So now I can't play anymore.  I bought Entrenchment and that seems to work but Vanilla Sins asks for activation and says it's an invalid key.

I've sent a support ticket in and I'm still waiting for a reply, I hope they'll reactivate my SOASE install because I bought Entrenchment otherwise I think I'll be getting a refund on Entrenchment and won't be doing any business with Stardock in the future.  I'm just glad that Diplomacy wasn't up for Pre-order or I'd probably need a refund on that as well.

The magazine that distributed the serials did not have permission to do so. As a result, all of these serial numbers have been disabled and they will not be re-enabled. If you have concerns or questions over this, please contact the magazine for more information.

This was not something done or sanctioned by us.  I'm sorry for the frustration this may have caused, but this is like blaming someone who's car has been stolen when you bought it from the thief (unknowingly)  and now have to return it to the original owner.

Well I bought Entrenchment and I can't use it without Sins so either refund me for Entrenchment, Give me Sins or least preferable allow me to pay the difference in price between Entrenchment and the Labour Day Sins + Entrenchment Bundle.  I got and activated my key during that sale and would have bought the bundle if I hadn't already had a key. Since the sale price was $20 and I have already spent $10 on Entrenchment that would equal $10 for Sins.

Done that they gave me the same copy & paste reply you did.  I've waited long enough, I will pay the difference between the sale price at the time I received and used the key which was $20 for Sins + Entrenchment minus the $10 I have already spent.  If somebody can do this for me I will gladly pre-order Diplomacy.
