Demigod Demo - never starts?

I thought I'd give the Demigod demo a try today.

I downloaded, installed and...nothing.  It seems to start up and then get killed right away with a Dr. Watson.  There is NO indication of what's happening.

Any ideas on how to at least find out what's happening?

I remember the installer said something about running it from the Start menu on Vista or Windows 7. Maybe try that?

I have the exact same problem.  Downloaded the demo through Impulse and from a third party site.  I cannot get the game to start.  There's no error message or anything, it's just that when launching the executable absolutely nothing happens.  The "number of times played" on Impulse gets incremented every time I double click on it, but no game.  Help?

Got a Logitech webcam?  Close the webcam program and also manually kill the LVPrcSrv.exe process.  It prevents Demigod from launching, I imagine the demo would have the same problem.

I'm, having the same issues with the legally purchased full game.  It will not start... goes through the beginning portion,... tells me I have to update then nothing just shuts down.

My system:

Gateway FX laptop:

2.6Ghz CPU

4GB DDr3

9600GTS Nvidia video with 1GB DDR3 Ram

Vista 64 Ultimate.

Having a problem with starting the Demo - multiplayer

I d/loaded the Demo from my Impulse account.  I can open the game and even change the options.

But when I click on Multiplayer, there is avery long wait.  And when I enter my Impulse name(from SoaSE) and password(e-mailed to me), it says "Invalid username/password"

Do I have to Register it and if I do, what's the serial number

Have you updated fully through Impulse?  Verified through Impulse?  If so, and you're still having the same problem, then drop us an email at support@stardock.com

Drop an email to support@stardock.com if you haven't already, and we'll try to get you up and running.  Keep in mind also that your Ironclad Online account(from SoaSE) is different from your Impulse account info that is used to log into Demigod.

I was getting somewhat similar problems. I took a wild guess and removed my google spyware program and everything works fine now. I was getting a runtime error and also program quit working suddenly error with no explanation. Try going through the programs that automatically start when u turn on ur comp.

Hi, I have the same problem as the original poster, except I don't have Dr. Watson. I have a logictech webcam, I disabled it, even unplugged it. Turned off my AVG antivirus, tried closing programs that start when my computer does. Installed the demo from impulse and a third party site, but nothing I do makes it start =\ I would really like to try this game, but I can't figure out why the demo won't start. It gives no error messages, I don't see the program start in my windows task manager, I tried starting it from multiple places (using windows XP). Just nothing happens when I click start except a little loading icon on my cursor, I forget what it's called, the thing with sand that marks time =p edit: hourglass! Then that goes away and nothing else happens.
