Forced Lag

Hi!

Just wanted to warn you that Pradedushka starts lagging on purpose once he is about lose, its so bad you can barely move at all. After the host left and he knew game will not be rated then he conceded, which proves that he did it on purpose to force us to leave.

Never play against or with him, kick him from your games otherwise he will ruin the game.

What exactly would be the benefit for him to do it intentionally, given the current issue where host quits report as losses for everyone else anyway? There's no scenario there that doesn't lead to the guy getting a loss anyway.

That's the point, he was losing, host was on the winning team, he made the lag to get the other team (including host) to quit.

That's the point, if the host is on the other team, he starts to lag and maybe gets the host to quit. Therefore the game will either not count or count as a win for him.

//edit, woops, should have read the second post too ;)

Username noted.  Screenshots are swell though...

Evidence would be appreciated, otherwise you could just be hating on Pradedushka because he beat you or something.

Btw. are we talking about actual lags here or is the game slowing down to a crawl?

Try taking a screenshot of lag and tell me how that works.

The game just got terribly slow, i could barely move, the worst lag i have ever seen, wasnt simlag though, much worse.

I think after this happened just once, it is no fair to writte a complaint here on the boards.

If it happens multiple times, then come back :p

Well what i'm saying is you could have taken a screenie of the WarScore screen (the one that shows you everyone's ping and Simspeed) with his lag spiking.  You could have also taken a screenie of the war score screen once the host and others had dropped b/c of his lag... etc etc.

I realize hindsight is 20/20.  I only chimed in b/c it's so easy to flame someone on the boards with false information... especially when they don't present themself on the forums to defend themself.  I've seen it happen so i'm sceptical of anykind of 'flame or grief' unless i witnessed it myself, a friend of mine witnessed it or someone posts screens or vids of the said instance.  That's all.

Logic would dictate that this person was lagging because they have a poor computer/connection that couldn't handle the extra data that comes as the game progresses. More units means more lag for some people.

There was no progress in that game, after about 5minutes one of them left, after that he started lagging, all others of his team left, he stayed, then the host left after some minutes, he conceded 5 seconds after that.

Lol nice to assume the worst case :D

I had this two times unintentional.

I had a horrible game where the game laged from first second.

Three enemy players with sim speed of 1 - 2.

I played 15 minutes or so and it got even worse.

We seemed to lose anyway so I minimized Demigod and started playing WoW.

Because demigod needs large ressouces for an strategy game my pc went quite slow and after some minutes I was droped.

In my case it was not intentional but I still would do it again (playing WoW in a horrible game).

So perhaps he didn't caused the lag on purpose too?

Are- are you seriously saying that you started playing WoW in the middle of an online Demigod match? And then were surprised when your computer started to lag?

That unpleasantness aside, the username is noted, though some proof would be nice.

You are a horribly selfish person, and lacking in intelligence as well playing two games at once and expecting either to perform well :p

The game started lagging immediately after someone left? If whoever left was acting as semi proxy between some other players it's quite feasable that Pradedushka ended up picking up that duty afterwards which doesn't always go smoothly, either his connection or router can't handle the extra traffic or something else.

Anyway, it seems like there's reasonable doubt that it was deliberate to me, infact I'd say it's far more likely to be an error. As such I think you should be much more careful about naming names and saying he should never be allowed to play again. Witch hunts aren't terribly fun or sensible.

Conceeding after the host left is hardly evidence of guilt either, it could just be a "Fine then, this isn't working, lets end it" response.

No, if a player who was acting as a proxy leaves, all the players who were proxied through him would also be disconnected from the game.

Note also that Fpulrelignia, a player, has a hack which causes my teammates to play poorly.  He always uses it at the start of the game, to make sure he wins.  Do not play with him.

P.S. he also kidnapped my cat, because I can't find it anymore.

Really, it doesn't even try and conscript someone else in on the fly? I can understand it frequently going wrong and chain dropping people who were proxied, but not even trying to maintain conectivity?

I don't have any knowledge to the contrary of what you say but that seems like an awfully fragile system to use before the dedicated proxy solution.

Well, it's not the default setting anyway. Players only get proxied through other players, if the player who wants to proxy other people has the /localproxy switch active.
