Please un-ban Shadow

Yes, what's up with that? A user shouldn't just be banned from the forum without him actually telling why.

I was under the impression that he quit.  He got banned for that last thread?

_Shadow does have a tendency to be highly condescending, arrogant and rude.  That said, he's good at the game and isn't always as I described a sentence ago...  not sure what he might have done to get banned and wouldn't even have known if this post wasn't made. 

Have no idea what he did to get banned, but what applies to other forums has diddily squat to do with this one.  As a supposed mod someplace else you should know that.

I think i know what he did, but that is not excuse for being perma-banned.

Why was he banned in the first place?

Seems pretty outrageous if he was banned for the thread on pre-arranged teams...

is it worth a ban? idk, but his comments didn't seem needed.

now i'm curious who decided not to use gpgnet. frogboy said shadow should get his facts straight, but never said who made the decision

man, im having a hard time seeing where a ban was warranted and who's on the right side. both may be in the wrong

I was/am admin on two SupCom related forums and both have different rules. I haven't seen a post from Shadow that would call for a ban IMHO. Sure, he has strong opinions and he isn't afraid to speak his mind but as far as I'm concerned nothing he said was meant as a personal attack or not within the limits of reasonable critizism - which doesn't mean he's right btw...

Frogboy, please unban Shadow. A ban without warning is a little harsh, even if you were understandably hurt by what he said. Shadow probably had only a bad day and was frustrated. Please consider giving him a second chance.

PS: Concerning GPGnet: It is quite possible that the decision not to use GPGnet came from or was supported by GPG. The employees who developed and maintained GPGnet have left GPG some time ago as far as I know.

He was banned for opposing our Stardock gods, be careful what you say. They're not quite as nice as all the fanboys make them out to be.

Also I like how fast his ban was, compared to Foreshadowed who was on the boards for like 2 months trolling.

If that post was a "bannable" material, damn, thats wrong. There r far worse posters on this foruns than shadow.

From what I have read here and on the gpg board, frog says that gpg decided to retire gpgnet before it started this program and they (gpg) never had any intention of using it on this project.  What their plans were before hooking up with stardock are unknown.

Same here, looks like both probably.

Although it is important to note he is banned from the boards (possibly only for a short time), he is more than able to play the game.  When he (shadow) isn't really contributing on the board (mostly snarky comments meant to antagonize/point out short comings), I am not sure it is a huge loss.

Unban, he may not always have the nicest tone, but I'm sure it's never his aim to flame or troll.

Perhaps its a matter of who you are talking to (as it appears to have been frogboy).

If it's a temp ban then it's fine and I don't feel bad for shadow. I think people need to realize Frogboy doesn't take the thick-skinned approach to these boards that say ghostcrawler does on the wow boards.  He doesn't like when people use a hostile tone and you need take it down a notch when speaking to him.

If it's perma it's way overboard and I think that kind of draconic punishment is bad for the discussions and atmosphere here.  Some players get excited because they genuinely care about the game, not because they're trying to troll.
