then download deskscapes v1.02 free and it will work untill the release of win7 finnal or an update from DS
Can understand the view concerning the hack but would think Stardock might also understand its members/users fustraition as well so how bout a beta for those of us who are legitimatly testing Win 7 for MS?
Fortunately with the new Direct2D acceleration, I expect a Win7 Deskscape/DreamScene update from Stardock to be particularly tasty. 
It's not a hack so much as it's a third party software that will unlock the reg to allow you to use windows dreams as in vista but you need to do this in order to keep useing your software

Why not wait for Stardock to release a version of Deskscapes for Windows 7 (hopefully they will by the time Windows 7 Ultimate is released) rather than messing up your system with such kind of cheap registry hacks as you mention.
In my opinion this is not advisable.
Please do not suggest people pirate Microsoft software!

I tend to agree and have resited using the edit but at the same time I really miss my dreams have a ton that are totally unusable for now and a subscription to another dreams site thats going to expire and I'll have to renew out of pocket waiting for Stardock
Hello Stardock are you there! Please give us a least a glimmer of hope. Will there be a Windows 7version of Deskscapes, like WindowBlinds 7 or Tweak 7. It's almost release time for W7 please respond.

If you remember, Deskscapes 1.02 was released first for Vista Ultimate, and later after testing for dreams to
work perfectly on other versions of Vista, Deskscapes2 was released, likewise before releasing any version of
Deskscapes for Windows7, Stardock will have to wait until the final release of Windows7 and it should so that people
also get satisfied rather than complaining about compatibility issues !!
Deskscapes 3 is to be fully functional with Win 7 with new unified looking GUI akin to IP and WB. It has custom allocatable dream directories and active preview of the Dream also. Explorer integration is being worked upon at the moment.
A great new feature is the effects that you can apply to your existing dreams - nightvision, rainbow, motion blur are just a few.
The beta is available through Impulse right now.
I'm not positive.....but it's probably only available to Object Desktop subscribers
Yes that is correct - it does work in win 7. It is a new beta program for those with OD subs via show prerelease. Works well with 7. Now if we could get some new dreams that would not use so much cpu it would be great.
What do you call too much CPU? Try the lighthouse one I uploaded this morning and tell me if it uses too much.
OR, try any of my dreams, most of them created for extremely low CPU usage at low bitrate so that they just use 5-10% CPU on my notebook !!

Where can I get the deskskapes beta 3 for Windows7? Some people said it was in impulse but I could not find it.
bought the $49 object desktop, yet my legal licensed win7 ultimate has no deskscapes 
maybe impulse doesnt know I bought object desktop?
theres a lic code, and it matches the one stardock mailed me
ah, I miss the dreams, wmv's work fine, but dreams are the best
I dont have an option to show "pre release apps" but I do have an option to show "freeware and demos" under the "View" tab, and I have enabled that.

Show prereleases is on the orb menu. Click the orb / button at the top left of the Impulse window.

I see deskscapes, but not a beta version.
