[AI tweak please] Discharging Missiles

Hi,

My tiny request is to tweak when discharging missiles are being auto-used by Sentinels.

In particular, I would like my Sentinels to turn the Discharging Missiles ON whenever they are stationary on hold position.
It's self explanatory. I want my sentinels to STAY RIGHT HERE. Why would they not use Dis. Missiles if they ain't goin' anywhere anyway? Right now they do not use Dis. Missiles unless the majority of fighters in the gravwell are in their weapon range, even if they have a cloud of bombers to take out.

please adjust the AI if it is doable.

Good idea. The same goes for assailants too.

Not sure about the assailants. They need to have the target in their forward hemisphere to fire at it and dis. missiles "nerf" the turning speed. So this may or may not cause trouble.

Still, the sentinels are flak frigs and they don't need to face any particular direction to bring their full firepower to bear.
The idea of turning discharging missiles ON when sentinels are stationary and on hold position has zero drawbacks and gives a serious advantage.
It's a no brainer.
Please, tell the Autocasting AI to do it.

I haven't used Charged missiles in along time so I forgot about the reduced turning speed. In any case, the auto-casting AI needs to be improved. Dominas need some love and its very annoying when the Egg uses gravity warhead on a ship that isn't moving or phase-jumping.

You're right, the autocasting AI could use some love.

However, fixing most other abilities is a complex operation of prioritising some actions over other in certain situations against certain targets.
The case here is simple: Sentinel + not moving + on hold position => use Dis. Missiles.

You forgot "+enemies in grav well"

When you issue a move order to a unit with Dis. Missiles ON with autocast, it turns them off, so no serious problem here even if there are no enemies.
