Fix the damn priest upgrade already sheesh

Im sick and tired of losing games on this because some noob fruitcake decides to get the priest upgrade and feed our enemies. Its pretty much gg if you get priests early. I am sick and tired of losing from this and theres not a damn thing I can do about it. How about being able to "unbuy" upgrades. or make priests worth a lot less gold/xp.

While your about fix the damn forums. Im sick of getting timeout errors when I click on "general". What are you using to run these forums, a trs 80?

end rant.

I agree. -50% xp for all reinforments would be lovely

How about asking the "noob fruitcakes" not to buy priest at the start of the game. Communication????.

Quit your crying u sorry ass loser> :) I dont want any changes in this game i Love IT!!!!!!! GAS POWER GAMES IS DOING A GREAT JOB SO QUIT TELLLING THEM TO CHANGE SHIT.

Well I for one agree with this. Sure i do communicate i'm not a bad player. But i'm sick and tired of having to power through 1000+ xp off only killing the first 2 spawns at level 7 or so. It takes forever to level up. I think priests should be automatic for both teams. At a certain point for both teams (lets say 10 minutes) they start spawning or when the average level on the field is level 5 or something in that area.

A) so you dont' have to level up at level 10 using minotaurs and archers (makes game last longer)
B) no more noob feed crap
C) even xp

Thankfully angels give low enough xp and do high enough damage they are worth it and same with catapults but priests almost DOUBLE xp per wave. Fix the xp for them or make it even.

Now you people are going to critizise me but i love GPG and i own several of their games. They do a great job and i just think the poster attacked this too angerly. The forums ARE FOR feedback. Don't discourage posting. Encourage good posts. Start a praise post if you hate these "sorry ass loser"s who give feedback.

This is stupid.

Buying priests relatively early can be part of your strategy, i.e. if you are able to push most of the time, Priests will put additional pressure on the enemy and get those towers out of the way even faster. It's a strategic decision that can be good or bad. Don't make it's impact any less important simply because a team does not communicate well. Or simply because someone does not know how to use it effectively.

I've won with early priests plenty of times.

You obviously don't take advantage of them.

Given you can't let the game drag on if you get them.

Getting creeps all at once (priests angels catapults) is really the only way.  The priests give too much gold to get if you enemy has any kind of reliable aoe.

So, yeah, the original poster is correct. Buying priests early pretty much just doubles the gold/exp that the enemy gets per wave, almost guarenteeing they end up 2 to 3 levels above your own team. The added stability of priests in a wave is kinda nice, but against many demigods who can easily kill creeps (TB, Beast, Reg, Queen) it is just feeding the enemy.

No, it's not the only way. As already pointed out it's very much possible to use priests early on effectively. Sure, it might be a dangerous decision sometimes, but that makes it only more exciting.

I've gotta agree with Spooky on this... Although, I really wouldn't mind seeing Priests and Angels switched, but I don't think that'd solve the problem.

Oh yes. Let's turn all upgrades into "AH BUY AS SOON AS AFFORDABLE". That will totally increase the depth of the game. Awesomecookies.

It's very counterintuative; you should want to buy most upgrades if you can, and they should help, not hurt.  This needs some sort of fix for sure.

Thing is, they are currently 'do not buy them ever' upgrades.

In fact, at the moment, the number of upgrades that are 'worth it' is really small, mainly because later upgrades tend to have diminishing returns, but greater costs.  The only real exception to this is catapults, where the upgrades availability at the end of a tree rationalizes the cost of upgrading all the way to it.

I mean, the Tower damage upgrades 5% per level...and keeps costing more.  It's ludicrous!

As one of the noobs who has bought priest too early, I never would have done so if my team mate had informed me that is a foolish thing to do. just talk to your team and ask them politely. If they dont talk or listen well thats just luck of the draw. Eventually people learn from thier mistakes all games have some learning curve.

Yeah, but no game should have a button that is there just so people learn not to push it.  That isn't a learning curve, its a poorly balance game mechanism.

Poorly balanced?  No, it's part of the strategy in this game.  Knowing which upgrades to make at the right time to benifit your team in their current situation.  Learning not to summon Priests too soon is something people learn, or something team mates learn to work with when someone does.

More to the point, this isn't a BUG, and shouldn't have had such a childish and demanding "Fix" thread name.  Stop teaching people to consider everything they don't like as broken, when it isn't the case.

Sorry but its just incredibly frustrating when you're having a good close game and then suddenly you know the game is pretty much auto loss because the enemy are being fed priests. And its not just the extra feeding for them, but now your creep is killing their creep, so to get anywhere near their creep you often have to go right up to their towers. They can just sit back and let your creep kill their creep and advance up close to their towers and pick the creep off. So you're forced into meeting the enemy DG far away from your own towers, which is ust going to result in more kills for the opponents.

I dont like having to "tell" my teammates how to play. It might be necessary in this case, but Ive always thought of it as being a bit rude when you start getting told by a strager how to play the game. Normal mistakes you need to make over and over to turn the course of a game too, ie if you arnt careful and die a lot, you need to do it multiple times to turn the course of the game. This is just 1 click and its game over. No way to undo it. You're screwed. gg.

Sorry but the people here who say that they are valid strategy are just plain wrong, and doing the community a disservice by posting such nonsense here. Dare I say it part of the problem.

There is a chat feature in the game because communication is necessary for a well coordinated team.  There's nothing wrong with politely requesting players ask before buying priests.  It's not 'telling your teammates how to play' its communicating and coordinating.

This. ^

Priests are part of the game! Can anyone put their hand up and say they did not buy Priests when they first started out.

noob, learn to play

seriously though, it's not a problem, it can work early off, and if that's not want you want, ask teammates not to buy it or try to tell them about the advantages or disadvantages of buying them

my last game my teammate did buy them after i asled him not to buy them. he or she may have misread, but i then explained why he/she shouldn't have bought them(i don't like the early push usually), and we then countered and won game

so, don't bitch on forums because you were too lazy to talk to your teammate

and ps, pull the stick out of your ass. bara just made a thread asking for you to post when the forums are going slow, because he cares. so don't act like they are not trying, clearly he wants to fix it, so you posting your rude comment won't help, go post in the thread where he wants your help

i'll even link it to you

lol, if you call not using something until you have to "strategy" then you must be pretty simple minded.

Theres no "too soon". Its not at all. Theres no learning to to work with them. Its gg once someone buys them. You really are clueless about it aren't you.

The game mechanic is so horribly broken, and must be fixed, and for you to call that "childish" and defend it just makes yourself look like a total douche.I hope the develops listen to the majority rather than a few vocal fanboys like yourself.

As I said (but you obviously didnt read that far) I think its pretty rude to be lectured by a stranger on what to do/not do. I feel I'm being bossy if I do that. It has nothing to do with being lazy. (But thanks for the insult anyway)

Priest are just awful.  There's no such thing as using them to win, there's just winning in spite of them.  The fact that the proponents here both admit to buying them when they were noobs and to having to end the game quickly speaks volumes, allow me to rephrase:

Priests are counterintuitive and will sink you in the long run.

There's a difference between good mechanics and bad mechanics.  Having finite item slots so that you make choices between mana, health, and damage is a good decision making mechanic, having a self-handicap button is not.

you obviously didn't read my post

"ask teammates not to buy it or try to tell them about the advantages or disadvantages of buying them"

it's just asking and informing, and you obviously didn't strategize with your teammate at all(a decent team tends to coordinating upgrades, both you and your teammate seemed to just not talk to each other), so it seems you are still at fault here, not the game

if you aren't gonna tell them, they may never realize it
