Demigod came out on April 14th. It's barely been a month.

I think they have done a good job, if you look at the fact that it was released too early and they hadnt have the time to set up everything, and they had to focus on other thing than what they had on mind, and i think they've been good with updates still, and they are going to keep doing it . all for you, so no flame let loose here .. sry

*shrug* Despite all the complaints on these forums, I've been playing it without incident on GameRanger all month. My friends and I are having a great time.

Sucks for the folks who really want to get into Pantheon I suppose but yeah, I'd buy an expansion.

I’m stuck living in the 3^rd world and the game was FINALLY released here on Friday 25 May. During the weekend I had a good number of games and it seems to be working pretty well, the major problem I’ve seen with my compatriots is not being able to connect to everybody else because they haven’t opened up ports 6100-6200, once they figure that out everybody’s problems magically go away.

As for the game and support Stardock have done exceptionally well, where they’ve had problems they’ve admitted it, and let us know what they’re working on and when it should be fixed by, which is a hell of a lot more feedback than ANY other game developers ever give. Patches have come out very quickly and it looks like Stardock is working with as many people as they can to work out solutions to the multiplayer connectivity problems they’ve had.

I’d be happy to get an expansion if they released it, but please release it everywhere at the same time, sitting in the 3^rd world waiting an extra month and a half to get a game that everybody else is playing is incredibly frustrating.

Apart from that, good work to Stardock, I know you guy’s have got a lot of flack in the forums, but from what I’ve seen so far the game seems to be exceptionally well balanced and if I can connect to multiplayer from the digital dark zone in the 3^rd world then I’m pretty sure most people should be able to if they open those ports.

But in regards to this post...
Alot of people actually are angry about how the game has been
and rightfully so... People who arent accustomed to the regular dissapointment of the gaming world lately (EX: Age of Conan, Spore, and many many other) Expect a finished product for 50$. What other industry can get away with selling a product with major parts of it missing... Imagine someone selling you a car without a steering wheel. The only difference is as soon as you sit in a car you can see the steering wheel is missing. When you buy a game the errors are not entirely obvious till you attempt to play online games. The gameplay overall is smooth and entertaining, but the connectivity is rediculous, under par, and dissapointing. Especially when you wait 10 minutes for a game to fill up with connected players and it immediatly drops upon launch.

If I had bought a car that seemed fine from a dealer (Keep in mind the word dealer, implying a trusted source, and representative of the brand) and then immediatly after starting stalled on the way to work, it would be returned promptly.

In the gaming world we are not so lucky. The dealer is allowed to release the half finished product, market it as finished, and then when you discover it is unfinished, the dealer is allowed to ask you to "wait" and be "patient".

I bought the game from their online store very shortly after release.

I have no regrets about my purchase and think the folks at Stardock and GPG have done a more than acceptible job. I'm particularly pleased with the 50% coupon that convinced my house mate to purchase the game which has gotten me back into playing it a lot more as well.

I also read the thread that proxi linked to and Alpha492, it reads like you're a real tool and should pull your head in instead of posting more about negative stuff.

It was not intentional this game has just had a long and rough journey and occupies much of my gaming time these days.

A response of low caliber does not seem kosher coming from a representative of stardock, especially considering the topic

Actually, Stardock was only able to make code to get people connected in the first place, and that works pretty well. Not flawless, but it went from about 50% sucess to about 95% sucess, so overall Stardock did a good job there.

The code to keep you connected, and the other aspects of pvp, are controlled soley by Gas Powered Games. Next week is going to be the first patch they made (to my knowledge), so at least reserve a little judgement until you see how that goes.

I just play custom games... don't honestly see a point to those two. And I do mean 95% per person, not a 95% chance you connect to everyone. Still, the fact I can reliably play 4v4 games is a massive improvement over being able to start a 3v3 game less than half the time. And with the new patch next week (35% less uploading), hopefully I'll be able to play 5v5's as easy.
