Crazy things you have done in the game

This thread is for posting the insane crazy stuff that you have done while playing Sins; such as:

Having 16 Marzas at level 10 surround a full pop. TEC terran planet... then all attack at once with their nukes and raze planet!  It was brighter than the star for a few seconds... :')

Whiping out the enemy to the asteroid, then getting 100 seige ships and watching all of those lasers hit.

A fleet of pure Advent carriers.

A fleet of Vassari subverters? (the ones that phase jump shut down the enemy).

Going against 9 unfair AI (I lost btw)... x_x

Your turn

I was playing as the Advent and I had two asteroids, my teeran planet, and a dead asteroid. the only route out from that cluster was through the dead asteroid. Blocking the path right there was a...Pirate Base. I built a starbase and a huge fleet and waited until I was powerful enough to take the base...took me an hour to get there but I won and colonized the base

thats how i got Pirate baron

In an online game I once built about 40 Advent carriers and set them all to bombers in order to take down a beefed up enemy starbase.  My team and I lost, but it was fun.  Of course, since I only play online multiplayer I can't really build whatever I feel like building since I have to focus on acutally combatting intelligent and cunning opponents.

Intelligent and cunning opponents? Are there multiple servers? ^_^

Azrak, even some of the least-skilled online players (normally new players who are only used to playing against the AI) are more challenging than the AI.

its common for me to use atleast 3-4 starbases to help control each and every sun. It helps to ease the damage to my stuff when I have bombers taking out all cap ships that go to any star :-D

In an early FFA, I tried to beat a typical Assailant+Death Egg spam with a Sova Carrier and LRMs. Invading their planet. While outnumbered. And they had repair bays. To make it worse, I had to retreat my forces into a neutral Desert planet filled with enemies. Eventually though, I was pretty successful by making several Scouts with Timed Explosive with some Light Carriers. That was working until I had to leave the game early.

I think the beginning counted as pretty crazy. XD

Built 11 Nolivation Cannons, with no real fleet to back up. It was funny targeted em all at one enemy planet.

In real life that probably would have been similiar to the Death Star

Last couple games built just a few scouts sent them out till they died and then only built the ship needed for starbases. Other than that i won the games with Capital ships keeping my fleet size as small as i needed to matain the number of capital ships i needed to win then last planet built all the remaining Capital ships boosted thier level and sent in the whole bunch to the single last enemy planet.

Sent a Progenitor Mothership ,5 Destras and a scout to a pirate base.

The result? Win! :banhammer:

(I had military research maxed)

Pirate baron!

I love building and upgrading starbases at all my allies' planets, then declaring war.  I roll on the floor laughing as their fleets run in circles trying to figure out which fire to put out first.

In a recent game I also built over 30 Kostura Cannons and set them all on autocast (very large map). It was quite amusing watching the warheads fly as they rained doom and dispair down upon my enemies.

I was just kidding (hinted at by the smiley), of course I agree with you. The AI is really bad. Even if someone with a kickass economy leaves and the AI takes over it doesn't seem to be able to channel that crazy income into something useful. I think the "craziest" thing I've done in MP is using my poor vulnerable egg as bait to lure someone into a minefield/SB/PJI trap. Been fun, yet risky.

I lost all my planets in a MP game but still had a fleet so I went raiding commerce and fed all the bounty on our ecowhore who was a newbie who spent all his cash on starbases to protect HIS planets instead of supporting his teammates.  Was fun watching him curse me for being stupid feeding him with his 49 cred/sec economy.

A friend and I each got 16 cap ships+maxed out fleet and then batted it out around a star, with 4 starbases each. He was the Vasari, so all the starbases were next to eachother for the battle. It was pretty epic.

I was playing against some unfair AI's. And the Ai's built entire fleets out of jus fighter/bomber carriers.  I had very little to counter that so during one of my assualt runs i lead a large portion of ther armada into a plasma storm.  All of there fighters were useless.

I wish I could've seen that... :')

I'm a fan of large-fleet/army engagements in any enivornment.  Star Wars movies, the engagements in Star Trek DS9, Battle of Gettysburg.

I've got a few:

1) I won my first game ever, as TEC, by CULTURE! And against an advent player, too. Seriously. Not first game TEC, but first game EVER.

2) In the un-updated vversion of Sins, I made a custom map with 99 planets, 50 pirate bases, and 1 star. I built up my huge fleet, and slowly made my way to the star. By that time, I checked the game stats, and every EASY AI player (9 of them) had killed atleast 35 capital ships, 2,000 frigates/cruisers, 500 structures, and 400 pirates. When I discovered this, I knew the game would take several days to finish (24 hours, not sun up to sun down), so I built 42 Kostura's, fired all of them at the planets where each fleet was kept, and listened to "It's the End of the World as we Know It" by REM. Satisfied that nothing could possibly go wrong, I deleted the save with dignity.

Mine's easy. I designed and made the first push for the Scout Rush. I've done some ridiculous stuff with these little suckers. My favorite moment was taking down a fully upped Vasari starbase with 200 Seekers and a mothership. I kept hitting the starbase, backing off to let the mitigation fall down, and then hit it again. Ridiculously fun.

My other favorite moment was facing a FULL OUT Illum Rush. 30 Illums coming my way in the first 30 min. Know what I mean? That annoying rush that there's supposedly "no counter" to? Well, I churned out 100 TEC Scouts, crushed the Illums, and as he started to make Light Frig, I sent this huge group of scouts to find his Labs and his frig factories.

I destroyed all of his frig facs and got his labs. Since they were scouts, he also couldn't get any more constructors (nice little perk). I just kept killing them before he had a chance to build anything.

Oh, best part? I got his cap too with the 100 scouts. I'm sorry for having a sick sense of humor, but that's funny to watch.

Played through and beat a map with 50 stars and countless planets. Took me 3 months of on and off play to win vs. 9 unfair AI.

Seriously, I gotta try dat, did it insta kill the planet?

My crazy thing, I usually listen to the portal credits song, still alive, when I bomb the last AI world as I watch the bombing in cinimatic mode and laugh at all the citizens that must be running and stuff...XD
