Supreme Commander uses the same engine. In theory, you shouldn't have any problems like that in Demigod, if you can play a 4v4 just fine in SupCom.
your ISP might be throttling p2p connections
download soulseek (or another p2p program) open a port for it see what it does.
I open soulseek and about 3 minutes later my entire connection is choked even simple things like surfing are intollerablly slow. But encrypted proxies cure that problem as for demigod I dont know how to fix that one. unless they allow us to become dedicated servers.
thanks for the suggestions
I'll view my logs to see if TCP/IP connection limits are being reached
and how would I tell if my netgear WNR-3500 can handle all the connections?
Will also try resetting the router and glasnost when i get home.
The funny thing is that Demigod requires more Upload than Supreme Commander because it sends data with higher frequency for some reason.
I suffer this problem too, im fully able to play Supcom 3v3 matches but demigod starts to spike in such games.
It would be great if they could lower the frequency back to Supcom or even wait addional 10ms more till next data is send.
well i did find the warning in my systems log about TCP/IP connection limits so I uped the limit to 50 although I didn't get around to testing the change. Thanks for the tip
but I still believe glwbroadband (ISP) is the main cause for my ping spikes in game.

Is there anything gpg could do to hide the p2p properties of the packets / # of connections so the silly ISP doesnt try to throttle connections? I haven't seen much luck with proxies.
