Another damn host (py4eek) quit before he lost.
Was a great game. UB + Rook on Prison vs Sedna + QoT. I thought there was no hope of winning due to slow Rook and open terrain of prison. Rook and QoT came out to be both noobish. Our rook died 10 times and I manage to kill QoT 8 times.

Sedna who was the host played quite well and was quite even to me. However we out warscore them due to flag capping (they both tend to stay together otherwise QoT would easily die under me). A shame.

Yes, py4eek is not a good host. First he called us idiots because we conceded due to my keyboard which didn´t work properly.

We wanted to give it another try and while we totally destroyed them they simply disconnected. I do not have a screenie, sry for that, but i just wanted to support annihilatorx. I guess we killed them 12 times and they only made one kill.... However... it´s a shame things like this happen.

I can only post the stats for the NA game from the beginning, the second one isn´t even listed because they disconnected.

Lugh - so I take it Zombawee joined your team and then just fed them information and pretty much did nothing... is that right?  If so, wow...

He joined.. charged them all and died a few times then said afk and sat there after level 4 ( I assume because the other torchie and I were making it difficult for one of them to two box effectively so they just parked him where they could get easy eyes on for the assasing wrath item at our base)

So it was 2 v 3 a Sedna and two regulus on dominate...we lost 10000 to 9200? So yeah difference maker all around :p

Gotcha.  Well... probably a little better than if he just kept running out nonstop and getting killed and handing out money, but pretty obnoxious.  Good hall of shame post.

pacov how canthere be a good hall of shame  all the people on shame are bad  so wouldn't it be a bad hall of shame

crap

I played in a PUG today and came across this.  My team was getting beat.  One of our opponents was lagging the game very early on (I swear I saw my rook walk backwards -:)).  The person who was causing the issue didn't want to quit (he was having very big ping spikes).  Anyway, the individual didn't want to quit because he felt he was doing well.  So, its ok to lag out the game so long as you are winning apparently.   We did get beat as a PUG, but really poor sportsmanship in my opinion... "I can't leave atm"... meh.  http://pantheon.demigodthegame.com/game/799864/player/28414/

Found this was amusing.  Want to start by saying Warbirdd (the host) was upstanding and amiable.  He seems to do games labeld "no premade", but at the same time the same people sometimes join his games.  I went into the game knowing full well he's played with his two teammates a couple times, but hey that's no crime, and it wasn't consistent enough for me to be suspicious.

About 5 or so minutes into the game the Rook on my team disconnected.  Rather unfortunate.  Not one to throw in the towel so easily (and apparently neither is my teammate, as he trooped on as well), we didn't concede.  About a minute after the d/c, one of the other team suggested we concede (don't remember who, cept that it wasn't Warbirdd).  I declined and said they were free to leave if they didn't want to continue the game.

Further in one of them (again not Warbirdd) acknowledged it was a pretty good game, despite the d/c on my team (it was close, maybe a slight advantage on my team at the moment).  Feeling a little devlish, I gloated that even if we lost, it was clearly because of the AI.  They responded with 'Maybe' and it was mostly left at that.

Further still, one of the not-Warbirdd makes comments along the lines of "Someone was in our office."  With follow up questions, I found out that 1) they were playing from work and 2) the two not-Warbirdds were in fact in the same room.  I don't usually complain about premades, but the game was labeled "no premade."  The response was that I was a noob for complaining about premades.  I pointed out we were winning, but they insisted I was still clearly a noob.

Fast forward to game end, my team won, to a cascade of hostile remarks regarding our insistance to keep playing the game.  And, screenshot. But I won

(my fav was the short banter consisting of (after game end, paraphrasing) "You should concede when a teammate disconnects" "...but I won."  "It's just a waste of time."  "But I won."  Also there was the assertion that somehow a d/c on my team is unfair to both sides.)

Wow, Zed... all 3 of your opponents have very high ladder ranks.  Looks like a very impressive win considering an AI rook on your side.  Glad you decided to fight it out ...surprising, but fortunate that your opponents couldn't mop the floor with your AI rook.

IA's seem to have gotten better if you ask me. maybe im just crazy but i even see them get kills now. XD

Yeah, I babysat him the Rook a lot.  Lucky I decided to try out Sedna in a tank/heal spec, and even more lucky the AI decided to get tank items (I noticed it had ~6k health at one point near the end).  That, and frantically trying to ping the Rook away from them if they run away (that system needs to work better, cuz right now it really does little other than make the AI twitch around more often than not).

Like I said in my summary, two people on their team did say they had to alt+tab because someone came into their office.  I didn't notice any extended period of inactivity from the two of them, but then I wasn't looking for it either.

Thank you, though.  Frankly I don't know how we were able to pull it off considering the apparent experience, win/loss ratio, and ladder rank of my opponents.  I definitely don't consider myself a good player.  Just worked out rather well somehow.

(I wish the stat recording marked when a player leaves the game, to verify my statement that the Rook d/c about 5 minutes in.  Oh well, maybe in 1.2)

You're crazy.  The AI on my team would have died significantly more times if I didn't make a point to babysit him most of the game. There were a couple times it chased them past the towers right to their crystal, despite me pinging for it to go the other way.  UB AI is ok, Sedna AI is ok, the rest (from my experience) are pretty terrible.  (I'm not sure if they get different AI scripts, or if it just happens to work better on those DGs than others)

Wow, that's amazing PZ. I'd say you won the thread because there are so many fails about that situation. No premade premade? Losing to AI? When they went afk you must've out warranked them and giant stomped them.

Don't you hate it when premades join a NO PREMADE game? *no names*

We did outrank them, but we held the upper hand in War Rank most of the game.  It was a very smooth and consistent trend towards our win; there was very little back-and-forth.

I think one of the biggest fails in this is that they were playing the game while at work, and then used that as an excuse as to why they were losing.  (Again, I did not notice any periods of time in which they were both absent, but I wasn't looking for it so they may have occured without my realizing it.)

Heh, 'PZ' is a new one...

(I'm just hoping Captain Entropy reads the forums, like he demands that I should ;))

Damn impressive Zed. Very lucky your other teammate didnt throw the towel in aswell when the rook d/ced. Probably wise babysitting that rook so there wasnt a major gold adavatage for them especially early on. I dont think the guys you beat were stat abusers, despite the no premade, otherwise the host would have quit just to spite you and your teammate.

I know me and shade had a game like that with a couple guys but they got stomped and host rage quit 5 mins in along with his buddy. :( Hope that gets fixed.

Just wanted to reiterate that the host of the game, Warbirdd, was a model player and very polite (though he did not talk in All often). I have absolutely no qualms with him, and I would not want anyone who reads this thread to leave thinking that he falls under the same category of player as Captain Entropy and TowelofDoom.

And just what category might that be??

Hello PZ.

Let me start by saying that it was LONG after 5 minutes that your rook left. (Can I get the exact time by someone at stardock/impulse please?) You felt the need to mention that the AI rook on your team had tank items? Well thats because your rook had already farmed them, and I feel that had a critical outcome on the game.

Now, not to take anything away from your win, i think you did very well, and babysitting your rook worked out very well for you (the tank items plus your heals, etc worked well). When the rook dropped we were well behind and I said to my team "we need to feed off that AI rook or its gg) and when the AI ramboed up to take the portals, you supported him well, and with his tanky items he was very hard to kill. I think we got two maybe three kills off him over the whole game while he was AI (not sure if this is accurate as I was distracted alot of the time), which was nowhere near enough to turn the tables. kudos to you for the win.

Now, about being afk, we had a lady come into our office and hover around the area where she could see either of our screens with a couple of steps to the right or left. so basically we were alt tabbing out and in, trying to stay in as often as possible. TBH, we were able to continue playing for most of the time she was in there (10-15 minutes) but its very hard to concentrate on a game while someones talking to you. Not to mention the inability to communicate vocally with one and other. And those crucial tele's/locks/portals just weren't working for us in the critical stages of the game.

About premades, thats just a crock of shit in my opinion. The term premade should not exist in demigod as I know it. I do NOT find it valid IN MY CASE at all. If your a pro demigod player and have a competitive team that you scrim with etc, then maybe that could be considered a premade AND BE WORTH MENTIONING... But in my case, my friend and I play games together and thought it would be good to play demigod. I play dota first and foremost and only play demigod with my mate. Hence whenever I play demigod, it is with Towel. People cry premade all the time. Its so frustrating and I'd like to have a game that wasn't full of ppl crying premade for once. ANYONE can jump on vent or teamspeak so saying we are lanning is not a factor...

To me, when someone says premade, the only reason I can think they are saying it, is to give themselves an excuse when (if?) they get owned, hence the noob comment. My calling you a noob for calling premade had NOTHING to do with you winning or not, I couldn't care less either way. Your noob for feeling the need to cry premade when it should not be an issue IMO. Yes I've played with warbirdd before, but only because we have a decent ping to him and noone from NZ/AUS has been online much lately so we tend to join US games where we know the host has played with us before and will let us stay despite our relatively high pings to the US. I couldn't care less if I was on his team or not.

Now, I have some questions for you: Why did you feel the need to screenshot the game and make a post about it? What have I really done wrong? Why should I be in the hall of shame? Am I not allowed freedom of speech within the game? eg. "You should leave if you get an AI". What the heck is wrong with that? Yes I swore for effect a couple of times but christ man, people swear all the time, its even on TV these days... I did'nt say anything nasty to you at all, eg. "go f*ck yourself" "f*ck your mother" "go crawl under a rock and die you huge f*cked up excuse for a human being" etc etc. No, all I did was call you a noob AFTER you cried premade. And I'm sorry but IMO saying premade IS crying. And you go defaming my name to the community for that? What a joke! NO that isn't the reason you made the post is it PZ?....

I hope everyone here has the ability to see the real reason PZ made this post, basically to skite and show off about how he won a game with an AI player, VS a high stat "premade" team. All good mate, I can see all your fanboys backing you up there... "Wow, that's amazing PZ" and "Damn impressive Zed" and Wow, Zed... all 3 of your opponents have very high ladder ranks.  Looks like a very impressive win considering an AI rook on your side." Good work team, to Zed, you just validated his behaviour...

I've been playing demigod since the official release (before it even came out in Australasia) and I've helped ALOT of people along the way, gladly accepted having noob teammates, showing them the ropes, teaching them strategies etc. And generally being a friendly player. Granted I've had my rages when I feel something is unfair or someone is deliberately feeding, etc... but I've never ever attacked another player or swore AT them or made anything personal. I simply am not that kind of person..

Anyway, at least you got me to make a post for once, shame it had to be where I am in a position where i'm forced to defend myself... But whatever, its not that big of a deal, but I would hate for the good people here to only hear one side of the story...

PS. Good work Stardock and GPG for an awesome game, and a very dedicated support team.. you guys rock..

Hey Entropy,

I just congratulated him for winning the game, i think we all know how BS it is when a teammate quits midway through the match. I felt i stood up for you guys when i said if you were really scummy/shame deserving you would have host quit the game. Sorry you felt like we were having a big ol' flame fest on your expense, wasnt my intention.
