Premade as a gaming term came from WoW's BGs when players from the same server would enter a BG together. When there weren't enough of them to fill the team entirely that was called a partial premade, so I would say that you were a partial premade joining a no premade game, from what I've read (and I didn't read this whole thing).

In WoW when a partial premade with excellent gear and skill were in a BG they could easily have a more dramatic impact than a full premade premade with moderate skill/gear that was assembled because they needed a premade to balance out their other shortcomings.

So the point of a "no premade" game is to keep teams relatively balanced, and you have pretty good stats so I assume you were skilled enough to cause the imbalance that the game was made to prevent.

In 1.2 people's stats will be visible in game so hopefully people will just call games "balanced teams," "fair game," etc. and this'll be a moot point, because it seems like in that game they would have forced you to play against your buddy to keep teams even in the first place.

Let me know if you have any problem with these criteria for whether or not you should have said something in the game lobby:

• Are you in a game that is labeled in such a way that being in a premade game is discouraged?
• Might somebody interpret your Demigod playing relation with Towel as being a premade?

If those two conditions are met, you should have said something.

Well, what kind of a premade gets raped by AI? It would seem the teams were unbalanced in Zeds favour...

As for keeping the teams balanced, towel and I, WHENEVER WE HOST, always ask people to give us a general skill level so that we CAN balance the teams, thats the idea behind having a gg, no1 really likes stomping nubs to the point where all you have to do is right-click on them to kill them.. accusing us of being dishonest players is IMO unjustified...

2) yes, just as somebody might interpret me playing with towel as being a ferris wheel. I can't be held accountable for what people interpret things as. After participating in this thread I now know that maybe more people than I once thought interpret two casual gaming friends playing a game on the same team (of more than 2 players) as being an entirely premade team.

No, I don't think that because I didn't say anything in the lobby justifies me being in the Hall of shame...

We went up against a clan I do not suggest you play against ever.  The host indicated in chat that he'd rather have a disconnect than a loss when his clan was losing.  Impressive.  I strongly recommend you don't ever play against them.

This is f**king stupid.  You are turning the small community against itself - way to go.  Oh noes!  Someone swore!  Have you ever been on the internet?  How about Xbox Live? 

This is going to ultimately bite your game in the ass, and to think I gave it a good review in GN Mag.  The community is small and suffering, and making it so half of the players refuse to play with the other half of the players won't help any.

Oh - guess what?  It's an M rated game.  Grow up and laugh once in a while.  If you guys can't handle a little bit of swearing, or even false explitives, it worries me that you are playing a game with so much boobs in it.

This is the only RTS I have EVER played that has such a problem with "premades", a term that seems to have been invented here.  So what, you are implementing a clan system, but "premades" are considered taboo and neglected.  Just do us a favor and leave the clan system out.  No one will play with anyone in the same clan anyway, you'll have 6,000 1-person clans. 

And I thought the developers of this game were intelligent, here they are deconstructing their own community.  Good game queers.

You raise some good issues here... I think a Hall Of Shame thread is really a good idea as there are some really nasty people out there, and I think those people deserve to be Hall-of-Shamed... But when its for petty shit like "oh no he didn't say anything about premade in the lobby" or "he recommended I quit when our team had a leaver", it is exactly as you describe.. turning the community against itself.

If this thread isn't going to be adequately moderated (removing petty examples) then i agree, get rid of it...
