Gallery Uploads

Is something wrong with the submitting to Galleries function?

I have been trying on and off for 24 hours now to make my first submission to the Wallpaper Gallery,
including having to change my nick from M-203 to Interceptor to create "My Site",
allegedly due to invalid carachters in my M-203 nick.
The progress bar runs to the end, and then after about 60 seconds I get this:

WinCustomize has always been slow around where I am, but this is ridiculious.

I uploaded 2 new themes last night with no problems. Dunno why that would happen to you. Hopefully someone who does will see this post. :(

Try Again is the only answer friend. You can try uploading from a cyber cafe/ or some faster connection.

Erm, I think my DSL connection with 124 kbs upload should be fast enough that I don't need a cybercafe.

I'll keep trying, but not forever...

As you wish.

Do you have Flash 10 loaded on your system? There's an issue with Flash 10 that can give you problems when uploading. Since I use IE8 with flash 10 for my normal browser, I installed firefox without flash to upload here.

You can also try the lesser known second link to upload. https://www.wincustomize.com/upload.aspx

I think the Flash 10 issues have been ironed out. I have Flash 10 on my main skinning computer, and lately i've been able to upload just fine. The last thing I uploaded was last weekend, however.

Good luck, Interceptor. Cool nick, by the way! Just keep on trying. I'm looking forward to seeing your work.

Yes, thanks @ CarGuy, that link worked for me on IE7.  My Wallpaper is in Moderation it said.
By the way, you being a CarGuy, may be interested in the Wallpaper...

Thanks for your comments @ Mirsguy, I've been using Interceptor One as a nick since my youth,
back then it was a CB Radio nick though, due to lack of Internet!

However, I've changed it back to the one I've been using since I started here.

Extra question: how long generally does stuff stay in moderation?

it can be anything up to 5 days or longer, Depending on how many submissions there are in the queue. How busy the Mods are. The position of the sun, How many toes you had pointed towards the east at the time of uploading and if you did the incantation properly . :)

Flash 9 is still required for gallery uploads.  The Flash 10 issue was fixed for forum uploads.

Will that be changed?

If not, where can I download version 9?

The Flash 10 will most likely not be fixed.  WinCustomize 2009 has a new upload system so taking time away from that wasn't an option.

So can I assume that if my submission has not appeared after 7 days that it's been turned down?

And is the user given a reason as to why it's turned down?

you will be notified by email either way

Is that going to happen in the near future?I ask because I have tried repeatedly to get Flash 9 to install from

Flash 9 - http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14266.html

It never works, no matter which version # I try.The installation stops and tells me it is not the newest version...duh! o_O

I have already tried disconnecting from the internet first,no go.

Since I have no immediate plans to upload anything, should I even bother with it?

So who do I have to kill to get some kind of response?
It's been two weeks now, apparently my Wallpaper has 1 star,
but zero downloads and is not in the Wallpaper Gallery.

So obviously someone has looked at it, but no response of any kind.
What gives?

Wallpapers are more heavily moderated. Instead of an outright rejection, the wallpapers that don't make it through get put in your personal page and not the main gallery (I call this gettting PP'd).

Head over to this thread: Personal Page Elite and collect your prize.

Check in your junk mail folder. An email goes out with each approval/rejection so you should have already received it. If it's approved a link to it will be included.

The only items rejected are for unacceptable content ( porn, hate, etc.) or permission issues. Approved wallpapers will go either to the Main Gallery or to your Personal Page. All wallpapers are "voted" on by the moderators. No individual moderator will be responsible for sending it to the Personal Pages vs the Main Gallery.
