WindowBlinds 7 Sneak peek

wblinds_skinselection

A lot of exciting things are in the works for WindowBlinds 7.  The target date for it hasn’t been set. It’ll be “when it’s done” but it will be, by far, the most significant update to WindowBlinds ever. We’re taking it in a pretty different direction.

The above is just a mockup but give you an idea of some of the things we’re thinking for for the config UI.

Very interesting...looks like Zubaz was in charge of the spelling, though (Backgrounds). Looks logical, and more compact. I like the ratings option as it should allow sorting by taste, and not necessarily alphabetically.

As always it is good to see what is coming in the near future.  Is there a chance that some of the other apps will get need updates with the release of WindowBlinds 7?

Interesting take on the config screen. Excited about any new features as well. Nice tease.

I'm sure whatever it looks like and features it has, it will turn out great. I haven't been a subscriber to ODNT for this long for nothing. :)

One thing I'd like to ask for is perhaps the ability to be used on 600 pixel height screens?

Got myself a new netbook, and WB actually works great on it, despite the limited power of my netbook. It just gets cut off at the bottom :(.

Actual screen size is 1024x600, so it can go a bit wider. It's just pretty height limited.

Never, I repeat, never leave Zubaz in charge of spelling.

Same here Brad, new Acer netbook here and just about all Stardock app's won't fit on a 600 pixel high screen. (:(

Actually, I hope it allows for filtering by other criteria also, i.e. author, category or theme (OS, Holiday, General, etc), colour (?) are a few I could think of.

Sounds like it needs a scalable interface. :P All in all, I think it promises to be quite fun and am looking forward to the update... whenever it becomes available. :) Thanks guys.

Please, this time around, no hard-coded colours.

Isn't that one of life's little ironies?  That WB's own app is unskinnable?
