Many aussies around?

Been on nightly and havent really seen many aussie games during peak hour. Would kill++ to have a low latency 5v5 or something but the absoluute most ive been able to get together is a 3v3 and even then its usually with someone 400ms+ filling in the holes.

So where are you guys? Let's play damnit!

Add deepjay to your friends list if you like and we can try and get some bigger games happening nightly.

Aussie here,

We dont get the game till may 5th so there are only those who digital download for now.

Ah yah i forgot about the ingame store date - hopefully more and more get it anyway, really want some larger games, 3v3 and 2v2 is fun but i think the game would be a lot better 4v4/5v5

Not to mention i find the 2 smaller maps pretty boring.

I've only come across a handful of other Aussies. I'm hoping when the street date hits that more people will be picking it up.

Feel free to add me to your friends list, dtickner.

Also, that reminds me - is there a way to change your in-game nickname?

Seems to be more and more floating around now - had some good low latency games last night - you can play with 3-400 ms pings but christ the game is so nice and smooth with all 100ms and below pings.

Anyone know what the street date for the game is? Hopefully more aussies turn up - particularly once the connection issues are sorted. Playing is still mostly pain in the face to get organised. I reckon last night spent around 1.5 hours in the lobby trying to get things started. The yellow ping problem is the worst issue atm, that and people just 100% failing to connect when they have played plenty of games previously

I'll be on to night at around 7PM EST see you then.

Dunno, i play with so many different people i can never remember their names as people are constantly dropping in and out of the lobby, games constantly being rehosted etc - cant wait for these damned connection issues to be resolved.

What do you count as peak hour?  I've been struggling to get on since I bought it (only 4 internet games under my belt so far) but I'd consider 8:30-9:30 GMT+9 peak hour  for most of the country on week nights, no idea what people get up to on the weekends, as I usually play weekend mornings and there's hardly ever aussies on then

I usually play from 9:30ish onwards. Seems to be quite a few aussies around but yeah there's definite connectivity issues for us. It can be a real prick filling a 3v3 game - almost like the second coming of christ if you can fill a 4v4. It's not so much that there's not enough people, it's more that they can hardly ever all connect to each other.

You get things like a guy will tell his friend who he plays a lot with to come join, and the guy magically cant join for absolutely no reason at all.

I dont have much issue at all joining games, and i firmly know all my ports are forwarded properly. I suspect not everyone has their relevant ports forward. The problem with NAT is it is quite advanced to the very novice user. The game being so ridiculously reliant on that side of things being perfect makes it very difficult for a lot of people to get the simple functionality working. I mean JOINING a game in a multiplayer lobby _should_ be the easiest part of the process.

I think it's more than just port forwarding...

My first experience with demigod was on a LAN and we were trying to get 5v5 games going and had crazy problems.  Most good internet apps now days can negotiate NAT without a problem.  Hamachi has been doing it for ages
