Serious, does pantheon know anything else other than 2v2?

argh

It's almost impossible to get in a pantheon game other than a 2v2, I only had one other pantheon game that was a 5v5 and it was awesome.  I think pantheon needs to chill on the 2v2s you can only play crucible a limited amount of times before your brain explodes.

Heck...I'd settle for any game where everyone didn't drop while the game is loading.

If I wanted to play against 2 AI's i'd just play single player.

Amen. I hypothesized that they had capped pantheon at 2v2 today, but the claim was denied by Greenreaper.

What I have experience today/yesterday was pretty much this.

Today nothign but Crucible with 2 vs 2 and occasionally pantheon attempted bigger matchups, but the 'playerlog' was like 70-80 percent prefilled with bots. Those games were so rarely trying to launch, vs Crucible ones as the percentage of Crucibles even launching, because one person quit during matchup or couldnt connect.

None of my non-Crucible games launced during the whole evening of trying.

I would confirm on my part that NONE games ive was setup during the evening that happened or really were attempted were nothing but 2vs2's with the rare occasion of adding bots to the mix.

It looks like devs are trying to circumvent badly working networking structure/whatnot by using minimal number of RL players. As it seems the percentage of plaeyrbase really failing to connect, nat problems and frankly dev server problems making the games impossible to launch as more you got people in a game higher the chance seems to be that someone drops or breaks and thus the whole thing wont even launch.

I hate 2v2; someone always drops and it ruins the entire match.

Yeah; I'm just jealous that you could get into a Pantheon game at all...

Sorry to hear that, I personally wish anyone tryign to join pantheon could join and woudlnt be broken.

Its been suggested there is some routers, be them your personal ones or even public ones used by your provider that kinda mess up with peer to peer connections that can cause... problems. I personally just have a dinky old cablemodem and my router most likely is owned/maintained and ticked mby my provider and I got no control over if its playing poker or counting sheeps.

Another matter is possibly ping, I got no idea where the servers for StarDock are hosted and how horrible pings get to there around the world. As currently folks with rather good connection speeds can get to pantheon at the very least. I got NO idea how weak ping holders can or if they can play the game at all in current state.

What I would like is to get some indication how fast my ping is to the pantheon servers, afterall they are what is handling the matchups/checkups for launching pantheon games. An indicator for that would be really welcomed in the pantheon lobby and could offer people info/clues of how to fix they connection if its borked.

End of dannylandulf's quote

Pretty sure when this happens it's not that everyone else dropped.  It's you who dropped.  Everyone else is probably still playing with you replaced with a bot.  At least that's my experience having been on both sides of the fence.

Hmm I've got 4v4 and 5v5 today, but they're quite pointless when everybody else in the game is an AI, though I imagine it's worse if the other team has more players than you and they'll just farm the AI. So I'm happy with a 2v2 that has players only.

What is the point of playing online if we must play with/against bots?

Please finish your games before releasing.

Crucible is a terrible map - I wouldn't even mind playing the 2v2s so much if a different map was actually played.

I for one, wouldn't mind waiting an extra minute to get more players going for a 3v3 / 4v4, or whatever.  Enough with the 2v2s!

My second day where I got some good games off. But they were all 2v2 (humans) + AI.

I am growing suspicious again.

Got a 5v5 all human just now. Of course half failed to connect to someone else. But at least it's not set to 2v2 only.

Hi guys,

Just some quick info and then I'm heading out (hopefully for the weekend):

When you play a pantheon game, it's trying to pick players who have similar skill levels. The problem is, now that enough people have skill ratings, the system is being too picky on who it puts into games. So you end up with fewer people being in the game.

Now, next week, the plan is to make it be less picky about that.  The other change next week is that if a player has an experience score of over 1100, AI Players won't be added to the game.

Since Pantheon is a bit dodgy on the stats, what exactly is experience? Anyone know?
