Thank You Frogboy

I wanted to sincerely thank you for taking the time to be fully involved with the community during launch.  You have created numerous posts that explain what is happening and it is obvious that you are trying.  I've also seen you in Impulse chat at the wee hours of the night answering questions and being responsive to players.  This is really outstanding among your peers and I wanted to be sure that you know that it is appreciated.

To the rest, this isn't a fanboi post.  I know there are problems, but at least we are getting the scoop from the top on what is happening and that is encouraging.

Yes, it is wonderful when a CEO shows so much interest in the satisfaction of his individual customers.

I agree, Frogboy has definitely been exhibiting the 'god among men' type behaviour as far as support for his userbase and company go.  This is the way it's supposed to be done.  Game developer being tightly knit with the community keeping 100% in the loop and showing wonderful support for your products.

Every game developer should follow your lead, it would completely revolutionize the game industry, imo.

Although if EVERY game developer did it, that would make it harder for you to stand out from the crowd....maybe give everyone free puppies or something. :dog:

He should be out canvassing for the church of gods, asking for PC donations to help spread gods to the masses.  I'm talking about servers of course. With enough pentium 3 compaqs and hps pretending to be servers we'd all be playing lagless 5v5 and everyone would be happy.  Gamestop played dirty and now we have to show everyone you can't outsmart stardock.  That would be my take on it anyhow.

Although multiplayer is in a quite bad state atm, my doubts and frustrations would have been way worse if it werent for the involvement of ceos/devs etc, so this post is deserved.

He's a publisher, not a developer. Just thought I'd point this out.

After watching Stardock's involvement with not only their own game Gal Civ 2, but also Sins, I figured that they'd do the same with Demigod.

Nice to see I wasn't wrong.  Stardock's attitude and involvement with their customers have made them one of my favorite software companies.

End of DeadMG's quote

Stardock is both.  They just happen to be the publisher of this particular game.  They developed Gal Civ 2 + expansions.

Well then he gets extra cookies, cause it's generally a cold day in hell when you can get ANYTHING from a game publisher other than just the form-letter run around.

I'm starting to get worried about him actually. He said he was going to get some sleep but then somebody asked for a hand and hours later he is still working to fix the network issues...

I don't think hes stopped since the game was released 8O

Frogboy does a lot.  I remember one time I saw him giving advice on the 24th of December.

Plus the time he adimited that he worked on an update to GCII when he was supposed to be spending time with his family.

Persionaly I experianced his help when we had the whole unable to log in problem during the beta that resulted from ordering Demigod with 2 different e-mails(or in my case using the gift option to bill one address and send the game to my Impulse address - thinking about it I hoped they fixed that problem or no one will be able to buy Demigod as a gift for someone else through Impulse).  He came in on the weekend and had everyone with problems PM him.  I recall he was looking at keyboards used by people at first to see if that was the problem.

All together, Frogboy shows why companies that make games need to be lead by a gamer that cares about what he makes, rather than someone that only cares about money.

The best part about Stardock is that Frogboy is the sole owner and has no plans to sell.
