Vista Home 64 Some work some don't

Having a bit of an odd issue with deskscapes. Some of them work, but most of them complain about codecs. Desktop Earth and Water Dream work with no problems, but every other one I have tried (Including 3 that I purchased before I realized I had an issue) complain about codec's. I have Nero 9 as well as power dvd 9 installed so it seems like it is not an actual codec problem. Before each one I installed I checked to see if things were working. I have updated all of my drives, direct x, windows, and everything else. I have no problems with anything else on my computer, not from high demand games or movies. I have also tried other codec packs (and since removed them) to no avail. Not sure really what else to try, as some of them work.

Hi Arlack

I had similar issues earlier with my Vista Ultimate 64 bit and Deskscapes, error occured when i installed other media player, for instance nero, power dvd or quicktime.  YOu need to make Windows Media Player your default video player for the common windows video formats, mpeg video, avi and wmv.  Seems to not like having other players as the default. Hope that helps.

No go, I've double checked all the formats and they are all set to windows media player. Thanks though.

I've been told that the problem is the programs I've used have 32bit codec's were I have to have 64. Sadly I can't find any in my searching.
