Early download available for preorders?

Hi guys,

I searched the forums and didnt find the answer to this question.  I've preordered the game, sadly after the beta cut off, but obviously dont have a download yet.

Will we be able to pre-download the game in anticipation of the release on the 14th?  might be a bit of a crap show if all the digital guys are trying to get it at the same time on the 14th.

thanks!

Mr. Wardell was talking about doing this just a day or two ago, but I don't think it is set in stone.

We're going to try to work things out so that beta testers get the game a day early for release (there are some legal issues we have to sort through with the retailers but we want to give the beta people some added benefit for all their help).

Looks like only people that were in the beta.

hmm i dont mean early access as much as being able to get the file early so that i can start playing immediately upon launch.

I'd certainly be happy for anything that can be done in this regard, esp. as I have been a preorder for quite a while, but not long enough to be in the beta.

We're hoping to have the final up sometime Monday for beta testers.

Nifty. Grats to the beta testers.

Is the final coming out at 0001 on 14 APR 2009 for normal preorder customers by chance? I'm generally up around that time, and it would be swell if I had something cool to do.

Sorry, we don't generally do midnight releases. Normally we'll begin charging the queued preorders during regular office hours, and users will get access as they're issued serials.

It better. Though that timer counting down on the home page counts to 1300 in my time zone.....

Edit: Kryo posted while I did. Does this mean that we might not get access to download the game till the night of april 14th?

Bah humbug.

Thank you for the very quick reply, however.

We will be getting pre-orders done very early Tuesday morning EST so you will get them slightly faster than everone else (other than beta testers).

Ohh good i was starting to think from what Kryo said we wouldn't get to download till later that afternoon EST. That would have been bad considering i could have waited and gotten the game at my friendly software store sooner and be playing before the pre-orders.

Hopefully you can run the pre-orders early enough so we can download and be playing by noon....

umm, i know this is silly, and its making me a little skeptic on jsut digitally downloading the game. but what exactly happens in a download? ive nvr gotten a game like that, so im just wondering like how it happens can anyone tell me?

Basically you just install/start up Impulse, click the Install button, and we pump the bits through the intertubes to your PC. Not anything amazing or strange involved, really :)

So basically, we're getting serials throughout Tuesday, the release date, then downloading a several gig game before finally playing it? Bah, most digital downloads offer the game beforehand and then send you a serial to unlock to avoid several potential issues.. (*Recalls AoC preview weekend download fest nightmare*)

Not sure how hammered the servers will be, but Tuesday is my "Sunday" and I was hoping I would actually get to play. Oh well, I suppose. Carry on, and here's hoping for a fantastic release.

Intertubes huh.....  Never would have thought of that.  I guess having my favorite Demigod bust through the door to deliver my game was asking a bit too much.

Of course. They're too busy killing the favorite Demigods of your enemies.

I thought this was all automated or scripted.   I guess it's a manual process...

Yea i'm a bit dissappointed too...live and learn.....i know STEAM lets you pre-download then sends an unlock code.....

Or hey here's an idea....run the pre-orders on monday during normal business hours and automate our codes to be sent out after midnight (i know there is a way to send out email on a timed thing)
